If I have to choose between Beck-Arnley and Genuine Toyota Parts I go with Beck-Arnley. Except when it comes to front axles and lower ball joints - then it's Toyota parts only.
Hey thanks for your replies, guys! The only concern I had about plastic sensors was their durability.
Re: using mirrors...
You're right, of course. The side-view mirrors are good for seeing when decent light is available. Different story with the rear-view mirror. When I'm trying to place the...
I would like to put two backup sensors on the rear bumper my truck. So far, the only ones I can find by searching the internet are plastic ones. I need ones that have metal housings. I plan on drilling holes in the bumper to mount the sensors.
I need sensors, not a backup camera. The sensor kit...
If you are not a die-hard DIY mechanic with lots of patience, fairly hefty tools, a decent bottle jack, and a Bernzomatic torch, I would most likely buy the complete upper and lower control arms with bushings already installed. You can get the part numbers by calling a Toyota dealer, giving him...
@Tony_Farson
I think you'll like it! First time I was up to Mt. Moriah was in June of 2009, and I've been there just about annually since. Gettin' kinda tired of it though.
The road is pretty rough when you leave the junction on the valley floor, averaging maybe 10 mph. Takes about an hour to...
Tony,
Nice photos! I haven't been on that road, probably won't either. Gettin' too old. You might want to take the dirt road east out of Spring Valley up to Mt. Moriah, camp in there somewhere after you get to the top, and then drive along 468 to Gandy. Very nice, very VERY isolated. Unless...
I had the same problem. Those screws are attached using Locktite or something similar. I did manage to get the grab bar off of the passenger side, but because the steering wheel was in the way, I boogered the lower screw on the driver side. Then I used an easy-out to remove it, but I too am a...
I want to put a 2 DIN receiver into my 1998 Tacoma. The receiver must have GPS, USB, 32 GB card, and rear view camera provisions. I'm looking for something below $200 but can spend up to $300. I've already looked on the internet and have seen several. Can somebody suggest what to get?
Thank you.
Does it still leak or did the rubber gasket fix it???
That reminds me - the upper windshield trim (that nice chrome piece) came flying up (1987 SR5) after I passed one of those cylindrical tankers on a two-lane road, with a closing speed of about 150 MPH... Had to stop and yank the think...
Odd, I just checked Toyomotorparts and wasn't able to find any link on the home page to drawings.
But them I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other.
Where is it?
A week or so before Christmas I read some threads about a guy who made skidplates. I believe he was in Texas, and was offering custom skidplates for about $700 for all three. This person had photos of his product and of a huge metal press, and a lot of prospective buyers. He is an independent...
Hose it off?? Do you mean with your garden hose or with a pressure washer?
If so, I'll give the Foaming Engine Brite (if I can find it here in the boondocks) a try. Sure will be easier that trusting my ride to another unknown.
