Is the diameter of your mass flow housing smaller than the factory supplied one? Its possible you moved it into a slower part of the boundary layer, something closer to what it was calibrated for.
What is the MAF for anyway? Does the Cummins documentation say anything about that?
I know we spoke about this on the phone, but just to open up the dialogue to others who could chime in. My thoughts are that the mass airflow sensor could be the problem with the rough running. I recall the diameter of the tube you fit the sensor into being different than the factory supplied...
I thought the way PurpleFJ62 is doing it is like stock. From his pictures, it looks like it follows all the stock mounting points and heat shields. Do you have a picture?
I must be missing something. I understand brake specific fuel consumption to be defined as the fuel consumption rate divided by shaft power produced. Thus, if your engine is running, then it is generating some amount of shaft power, and consuming some amount of fuel, regardless of load. I don't...
I believe the intent of the design is to reduce losses across the screen by increasing surface area and reducing flow separation at the inlet, while simultaneously moving the pickup closer to the bottom of the pan, which should reduce the likelihood that air gets sucked into the inlet. In an...
Although Solidworks is a decent software, I prefer Unigraphics NX. I feel they are much more intuitive, and have a lot more built in features that SolidWorks does not (like tube command, or law curve, for instance). Catia is also nice. If you plan to purchase any of these software packages, be...
Nate is right on this one, its such a pain. The transfer case causes the whole driveline to rotate and there's absolutely no room for rotation of the engine.
Nate, urban off roader??? NICE!
Oh, and I like those Borg-Warner turbos in the avatar. You should post pics of that engine build on the...
This thing has all original head gasket, timing chain, auto trans (pops out of reverse), axles, and has had the valve seals in the valvetrain replaced once. It doesn't burn or leak oil
