Looks pretty nice from the small photos we can see! A bit far from me, sadly. Good luck with your sale! Pat from Bowfin is slowly collecting all of the great 40s

I hope to find a decent 40 or 45 and ultimately do a Leaf swap into it. I've done a few VW builds with DC series wound motors in the past. Those were relatively straight forward as the adapter plate and hub were commercially available and...

For sale is my ‘87 LJ70 Land Cruiser with 332,197 kilometers (206k miles) on the clock. The truck is powered by a healthy 2L-T turbo diesel that generates plenty of power and low end torque. The truck was imported from Croatia in 2019 by the...

Found the offending o-ring. Generously coated the replacement before install and very carefully slid into pump housing.

@67fj45kc Hey- Did you see request for videos/etc. above ? Cheers

Thanks. How much time has passed since it ran well until now? Do you have any videos of it running? Pictures/videos of the interior/engine bay would be awesome, also. General walk around of exterior, also. Does it have power steering? Disc...

Truck runs. It is a little hard to start. I think most of that is it doesn't get run that much. Lights need rewired or cleaned up. The engine was good when I put it in the shop talked about maybe rebuilding it but everything looked really good...

Does the truck run? What do you know about the H engine that is in it? Cheers
  • seatosummit
OEM-no replacement bearing, but in my case the bearing was fine upon inspection.
  • seatosummit
Thanks for the suggestion. The new o-ring was certainly installed. It's possible that I damaged it, but I'm not entirely sure how that would have happened, unless perhaps it rolled up the side of the pipe as I was pressing it into the pump...

Hi All- Just successfully rebuilt my power steering pump, which is great as I have never had functional PS in this truck. Mystery is why the low pressure side of the pump now appears to be leaking. Any ideas what might have gone awry...

A lot. Not for the faint of heart to do it correctly.

@octobloc I have an LJ70 that is CA registered and titled. Left hand drive, diesel, runs perfectly. I’ve been trying to trade it for a 45 or 75 pickup, but I might just sell it. Let me know if you’re interested.
  • seatosummit
Looks like they tried to do a direct import. It used to be you could import elsewhere and then transfer to CA. Now days it doesn't matter. New registrations will not happen unless you get it approved by CARB, which right now means paying a...

Body mounts These can be found pretty easy but it takes time to make the hardware set orders. The "T" bolts and rubber mounts for bed are one such set you will have to discover. If you can ask Canadian sources about body mounts for cabs you...

**** I had pinged him on it over Facebook, I found his knowledge of the build awfully vague for what appeared to be such a nicely done FJ40, left a bad taste in my mouth so I didn't move forward with anything. My family is in SoCal and I was...

So this SET tray is a fantastic complement to the truck. I am thinking about doing a similar build. What, if any, modification to the frame rails/mounts is required to accommodate mounting one of these trays? Such a cool build, nice work.

I think we spend our free time in similar ways haha. I've seen all 4 of those trucks in the last few days. The guy with the white 70 has a classified listing on Mud. Nice looking ute with a tray, but considerable rust in the body. Thanks...

Hi all. We recently purchased a very well used, and neglected 75 series ute. I knew it need some serious love, but as it always goes during a build, we certainly got a few surprises along the way. Saying that, it was purchased at the right price...
