If you do this, make sure your water pump pulley lines up first. Don't be a Pedro and install first then realize you dorked it all up. Everthigs gotta match, alignment, groove size..........sigh.

Looking forward to seeing those photos, Dog. I still assert, even with the problems you've had that you have one fine canidate for resto there. As far as the body goes, are they going to fix that rear body mount? How about that bit of rot at the junction between the rear quarter and the rear...

Besides the obvious (plain worn out) you should check for glazed rotors. if the rotors look shiney and polished then a turn and new pads are in order.

It can be repaired by someone with experience and the capability to weld cast iron. But, before you decide what to do you should remove the manifold. The mani might, as what happened to me crumble to pieces upon removal. Further inspection might reveal more problems with it too. In any case...

I was thinking that besides helping resist rust the zerk injected grease would also act as a lubricant between the rod and bearings.
