Hitch and wiring harness. I put a Master Hitch on mine primarily for the bike rack, still need the harness. Hangs a little lower then a stock one, but it was a decent price. The pro is also a con, and that is that it sticks out a little further too. Makes for a nice step to get get to the roof...
I bought a cheap hand press tube device from NAPA for under $10 USD and it works fine. Came with a long hose that can be easily replaced with a longer one. Kind of a PITA to refill about 6 times per axle and a little messy, but does the job.
Thor,
Make yourself known to some of the local Toyota dealers and that you are looking. Primarily the service shop/managers, some of the used vehicle managers and the parts dept. You may be suprised at what they see and know. I parted with my beloved FJ60 over 2 years ago and on that rare...
I have a '95 4Runner with stock headlamps (9004's I believe) and am tired of not being able to see worth a darn at night or in the rain. I had done the IPF upgrade on my FJ60, and I have the IPF upgraded headlamps and harness on my FZJ80. I can't say enough good things about the IPF's. My one...
Check your local hobby/model shop. Not a craft or toy store, but a "real" hobby shop. They may even be able to order it. The place by me had a couple in stock when I bought mine.
Good luck
Hmmmm, some possible thoughts on the matter.
1) It is because the dark ones show the scratches more and look narrower due to the lack of paint.
2) Toyota is fawking with us and just put a Land Cruiser name plate on dark colored Rav4's.
I haven't broken any yet, thank goodness. However, I think Chriso Slee may be close to, if not in, the double digits. He went through 5 (I believe) in just 3 days at this years BHCC.
HOLY s***!!!! I hope that includes the vasaline, dinner and a kiss at the end of the install. It took 2 of us less time then that doing it in the garage with a floor jack, having to make a few runs to the parts store, new front rotors and extending the brake lines and bleeding. And we're not...
Jim,
Welcome to TLCA & Ih8mud. Most will agree that sleeoffroad is your best source and I think he has a checklist of things to look for. And as Ron stated, it all depends on where you live as to a good price. Since you have been looking for a while, how does it measure up to what you've been...
As some have stated, everyone was saying that the 80's where nothing more then a mall ute. Combine that with the expense of a new 80's, not many took them seriously. Now look at us......longing for that last '97 with factory lockers, leather, A/C and broken CD player.
I think once the Colorao...
RJ,
Welcome to TLCA. As with anything you will find good points and bad alike. If you can get to any of the TLCA events, I'm sure you'll have a great time and meet some great people. With all the free advice/help and discounts, it'll more then pay for it's self.
I'm sure Tadd Ballard has addressed this in the past, but I will mention it again. I have been contacted by a local Toyota Dealer in Buffalo Grove, Arlington Toyota. The owner to be more exact. He has expressed an interest in hosting a chapter out of the dealership.
The problems are that...
