I’ve been collecting parts for the last year. Time to make it public and get it done after Relic Run. Picked up the last major Piece of the puzzle today. 5.3 with a 6l90 120k Silverado 5.3 with 799 heads. Last week it was in the truck...

I believe a few of us have driven it already! Edit: Oh! This isn’t the one Deo had. Nevermind!

I think I know that truck. Pretty sure it was at relic run around 2017.

be careful with that because you can have dragging and not feel it until after +hour drive the brakes will eventually slowly lock up.

Thanks Dave... as with a lot of these, there are several mods that are less than ideal. Open Country did a great job of getting most of the bugs worked out and running reliably. I hope to swap to a stock carb or maybe even a sniper or something...

In stock configuration that manifold port had a three-pronged vacuum doodad Mr. T called a gas filter. Definitely keep that port plugged. Otherwise its a huge vacuum leak.

Got back towards savannah and heard quite the bearing whinning noise from the transmission/transfer case, limped it back and pulled it apart the next weekend to figure out what was up, pulling the transmission in the barracks parking lot was not...

The last of the unchanged fluids was the transfer case. The transmission has a nifty little dip stick but not for the transfer case. Way overdue.

Spare tire time. Luke got the swing out mounted. It must have come off a different year Patrol as one bracket didn’t line up. Luke fabbed up another. we decided to use a different rim off my 40, which doesn’t match but gets the job done.

Kinda heavy to drag up but I have a 40/45/55 full-float rear available. Was going to list for $500 but would take $400. Needs brakes. It’s from a 78 so should be fine-spline 4.11 third. Little crusty but should clean up with sandblast.

I believe @Malleus had a similar issue with his LX570. Dealership replaced his harness under warranty or at least partially under warranty.

I think you'll have to cut both sides, effectively turning the pins into three separate pieces in order to drop the spring out from the frame side mounts. A sawzall works fine for this as well. I don't believe a die grinder is going to be as...
