  1. reddingcruiser replied to the thread QUESTIONS: Cruiser Solutions Power Steering Conversion Kit.

Opinion Alert! FWIW, there are thousands of Saginaw conversions out there. The ones that are done properly, particularly on rock crawling rigs that tend see much rougher conditions than pavement rigs (including extreme frame flex), have no issues...

 Yeah, but it's not the 'washers' that typically fail. There's just too much stress and fatigue on the thin-skinned:( door panel.

  4. reddingcruiser replied to the thread Door thingy - source or fab?.

I agree about the appearance of the 'fix', but unfortunately the portion of the limiter that's attached to the door was not one of Toyota's best engineering efforts. I typically fix them by cutting out a larger section of the outer layer (about...

  5. reddingcruiser liked 76 FJ40's post in the thread Adding a gas tank on a 40 without having to add a separate filler cap?.

Stacked in front of a re-geared split case, the Toybox would give crazy low gear ratios that you cannot get by just changing the t-case gears. It actually gives to two low range options

  10. reddingcruiser replied to the thread Brake Problems.

I already had stock disk brakes up front and just added an FJ80 disk brake FF rear axle and FJ80 master cylinder, and without a doubt I have the best brakes I've EVER had on my 40.

Or you could need to move more fluid, try an FJ80 master cylinder.

  12. reddingcruiser liked brian's post in the thread brake and clutch fluid.

having had fluid and been dry for probably an extended period, plan to replace the clutch slave and master, and rear wheel cylinders. as far as to where it went, the floor. it doesn't evaporate.

And why do you want to drain the t-case by removing the parking brake drum?
