My friend wants to buy a new motorcycle. Opinions please.

Kawasaki Ninja 650r. Used. Cheap, reliable, fun, fast, punchy bike. Sell it for what you paid for it down the road when/if you want a bigger or different machine. Excellent starter/intermediate bike.

Considering of going to the Dark Side....

Oh ya... dude be rockin' the 'Wing... but it still ain't leaning. It just can't. He can hustle it well, but it ain't leaning. This is how I like to ride, and no way in hell am I going to try a car tire for this kind of stuff. Guys riding the predecessor to my KTM. The rocket can...

Considering of going to the Dark Side....

Thing is J, that these bikes do not lean like a sport bike. I have watched a few vids, and the contact patch seems to be just fine with the car tires. Quite amazing really, as I thought the tire would roll up onto it's edge, but with the amount of lean these big boys are doing, there might...

Sounds like a plan. Bet it will work just fine for you. I would never, but I ride differently and a more sporty bike. I live for fast twisties and need all the grip I can get. For mild riding, don't see why it wouldn't work for you. Sure would be cheaper.

FWIW, it it were me, and I was riding any twisties at all, or in incliment weather of any sorts... I would stick to MC tire. For side car setup where the machine does not lean, or super slab, car tire is just fine... but my way of thinking is that really good rubber is the best protection you...

    American made Sport Tour bike..

It only revs to 8000RPM... that's not very high. Tells me they have not put a lot of design into the motor. A V4 should rev to at least 10 or 11,000 RPM, and i wonder about it's economy as well. They have some very significant competition in this category, with very thoroughly engineered and...

Hmm. I like the looks, sort of, but two issues I see right off the bat are: 1. Car based motor. That's a turn off right there. 2. I'll bet dollars to fried donuts it's a leg cooker. Good on them for trying, and i hope it's successful.
