Sound like what I got. my engin done 360,000 km it has worn timeing belt guides. When the plastic come off or wares out on the guides the timeing chine slaps on the side of the case But to see if it is only way is take the rocker cover off and look down you soon see if it is I doing my timeing...

I was told with these spark plugs they are so tough in some cases you may never need to replace them ever again that they may last the life of the car but I find that a but hard to beleive
