    Indonesian 40s

Doing a due diligence check is a must. Visited the country various times and even partaking on the annual Nationwide Land Cruiser Club events. There are good albeit stellar samples that are being sold over there but as with other countries, there are a proliferation of opportunists like the one...

    Tall skinny tires

3 Years since installation and haven't had any issues with the G003 (235/85 R16 on 16x6 0 offset OEM Steelies). Most taut and civilized MT pattern tire I used from my humble experience. No noticeable chipping, chunking nor cracking. I'll definitely get another set for my HJ61. I likely...

    Tall skinny tires

The 8.25-16 XZLs were supplied to a local engineering firm here in my country for their mixed fleet of Land Cruiser 70 series single cab and troop carriers. As a consultant providing services to that firm, I was able to get a hold for a set. Never had a pleasant experience on those tires when...

    Tall skinny tires

Depends on which Michelin XZL model you get perhaps. I've tried the Non "4x4 o/r" versions sized at 8.25 r16 (mil spec tire) and the sidewalls didn't had any give / flex even when deflated below 18psi when mounted on my 1974 FJ40. This particular variant name "XZL O/R 4x4" sized at 7.50 r16c...

    60 series rims on fj40

Hi @82FJ40EVV, Not exactly sure about the chrome 15x6JJ chrome ones if they are still available, I believe these are for LX trim 40s. I've tried the 15x7JJ variation for my HJ61 but no dice. PN# is 42601-60262-03 and this has been widely discussed over the 70 series tech forums. These are still...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Ditching the 4 inch skyjackers and shackle reversal po did (the po is my dad who's had his fair share of building mid life crisis "bro-dozer" lifted 40 to 80 series. Definitely not my cup of tea). Still thankful to have nos oem leafsprings that was bought my grandfather some 28 odd years ago...

    60 series rims on fj40

Bought a new set recently which are 16x6JJ ET0. Fits like a glove from my early 74 FJ40 up to my 94 HZJ80. This one is destined for my 1982 BJ40. Thinking of having it painted white either cygnus white or toyota 033/045 white. Aside toyota factory color codes, I'm also leaning towards honda's...

    Tall skinny tires

Still waiting for the correct rims to mount these tires on. The other 6 tires are still in transit so opted to use a temporary spare tire for the mean time. 7.50 R16C Michelin XZL for the 1974 FJ40 Build and 1982 BJ40. Despite all the lackluster performance review for the XZL aside from being...

Builds BJ43 1979 “Save the beauty”

@Economist LC76 Great to know and thanks for the info. I've been in the process of undoing all the suspension mods my father did to our fj40. Luckily I was able to source nos leaf springs as well for our 1974 fj40lv. Thanks and hope to see more updates from your impeccable build.

Builds BJ43 1979 “Save the beauty”

@Economist LC76 Hi. Just fitted NOS leaf springs as well to my 1974 FJ40LV but still unable to drive it until I tick of all the roadworthiness checklist. Curious on how does your BJ43 it ride and track vs your previous aftermarket (OME?) leaf spring. Cheers!!

    40 series 5 speed.

Donor transmission came from an '87 BJ73. I elected not to cut the inspection cover nor cut the oem carpet to adapt the placement of the rearward biased shifter cover position on the BJ73 H55F transmission to my BJ41.

    40 series 5 speed.

In for a set or two as well. Patiently and eagerly waiting. Hit a road block with my H55F swap in a BJ41V. Sigh Donor transmission came from a 1987 BJ73 (3B + 5 Speed combo). I'll be swapping back the H41 transmission for the mean time.

    09/1974 FJ40 F155 Engine Rebuild Inquiry

Hi to All, I'm planning to have my engine rebuilt on my 09/1974 FJ40. Below is the vin plate on my 1974 FJ40 General Market: It still has the original 1F engine, a late model F155 engine which has the same oiling system with the later 2F engines. I am able to find the all necessary parts...
