Ifirc The rubber pull handle identifies it as a ‘73-‘74 door. The earlier ones are rigid pot metal.

Folks with '73 - '74 FJ40 can now re-weatherstrip the doors . These are the 68108-90300 / 68109-90300 part numbers that have been discontinued for some time. It should fit earlier doors as well.

I rarely visit this forum, but I saw a similar thread in the tech forum around a year back, and I could see this coming from a mile away. As noted, there's certainly a valid complaint toward LCH's business model. However, I can tell you the root...

@RAGINGMATT Silicone hose like that used with my drain hoses is very hard and tough. It would never deteriorate or leak. The idea is that I would mold it into the same shape as the original line, so it would follow the incline.

No, I’m thinking of making the entire line from front to back with molded silicone hose. It seems like Toyota’s setup is over complicated.
  • Racer65
The lines to my rear heater is starting to develop some small leaks. I'v been thinking about making some silicone hoses to replace the lines. Can someone comment on how many types of such lines are there across different model years? I know the...

Correct. U.S. windows have a different shape. Require part #s 68175-60020 / 68176-60020. Both are discontinued.

The "correct" mod would be to place lithium ion batteries on the floor. That will allow space for larger battery packs, and promote safety at the same time. The "skateboard" configuration is inherently safer, because the battery enhances lateral...

Toyota recently announced a major EV initiative. I hope electric propulsion makes it possible to get the 70 Series into the U.S., since it would not run into any hurdles with the EPA. I'm not sure if the car can pass the safety requirements, but...

Probably half of that range would be quite sufficient for an underground mine.

The one on my site has the proper amount of boost for a FJ60. In my opinion, the 80 series booster is over boosted when it's fitted on a 60 Series. As a result, the brakes will be more sensitive.
  • Racer65
Inconsistent braking doesn't sound like a booster problem. Assuming the system is bled properly, i'ts more likely to be caused by the master cylinder or brake proportioning valve.

My 2 cents as a parts supplier. I think the carbureted cars have the best chance of staying on the road until the cows come home. The 3FE cars (U.S. spec FJ62) will have a harder time as fuel injection parts become discontinued. For example, I...
