A dog story -- very remarkable if true

I heard this today from someone who works on the psychiatric ward. I have trouble believing it, but I thought I'd share: A woman with a history of mental illness and several previous suicide attempts got into a bad spot and had decided to kill herself. She actually drew lines on her wrist...

    Group buy: Aussie sliding windows

How do you determine who gets good ones? You have 13 pairs, does that mean the first 13 people on the list get good ones? I'm number 12 on the list on first page. I think it ought to be a lottery system. Draw names out of a hat, and the first 13 get good windows? That sucks. :mad...

    We have a hurting dog.

The litter attached to the cat s*** might cause a blockage? Does he eat? Dogs won't eat if they have an intestinal blockage. Eating cat**** can transmit parasites (hookworms, tapeworms) if the cat has not been dewormed, but it wouldn't be an immediate thing. Steve

    WANTED: Cheap pickup

OK, looking for cheap Toyota pickup. Miles and year aren't that important as long as it runs well and can be relied on for long trips. Appearance does not matter either, as long as it is structurally solid and reliable. 4X4 preferable. Am in the Chicago area, willing to travel as far...

Can you dog lovers love this pooch ?

Jeebus.... At first I thought it had caught on fire or something-- seriously. That thing scares the s*** out of me.... A friend of mine has a Great Dane and a Rottweiler, and people cross the street to avoid coming near them (Even though they are both big babies) But that thing...

    2f turbo?

Just curious-- do you do anything to the valves when you do a turbo conversion? I remember from my Supra days that if you converted a car to turbo, they recomended you get higher strength hardened valves... Steve

Air Compressor Question (looking at buying one)

4-5 SCFM @90 PSI ought to do the trick for the most part. Some sanders (like Orbitals) take up more airflow, so check the kind of sander you want to use first. Steve

    Need excuses for the wife.

Buy a used tranny for way cheaper than $4500 and a couple cases of beer, post your address and the the time beer will be available. I'm sure someone will show up to help you out. ( I would if I were in the area-- anything to keep a cruiser fan connected to his cruiser) Steve

Anyone put down a deposit yet?

I sure wouldn't-- and it sounds like you wouldn't, either, but I think we're smarter than a lot of people. If I wanted one (I don't, by the way) I'd wait a couple years for used ones to show up on the market and get one then-- let someone else pay for the hype and the depreciation of a new...

    Sleeping in back?

Sleeping in the back of a 60 or 62 is so much nicer when you have Australian style sliding rear windows for ventilation. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=46334

Anyone put down a deposit yet?

Toyota may price it like that, but that doesn't mean the dealers will sell it for that much. Corvette ZR-1-- priced near 35,000, dealers sold the first ones for close to $100,000 VW New Beetle: VW originally priced at around $15-20,000. Dealers sold them for more than twice that the...

Anyone installed an underhood welding setup in a 60?

Which company supplied it? Is there a generator that fits, or did you have to make a bracket or soemthing? I'm looking at one of these systems, and am beginning to shop around. Steve

how to remove the tar under the carpet???

Absolutely. Don't need dry ice. I took mine off, from the tailgate to the firewall in about 20-25 mins with nothing but an air hammer with flat chisel attachment. I did it when it was about 90 degrees, too. Lifts right off, no residue. Noting but clean (in my case some rusted) metal...
