Crankshaft Speedi sleeve installation tip needed

I cleaned up the crank as good as possible. Put the seal in as deep as possible. With a little luck it will clear the end of the nick. It will be close. I couldn’t fit two seals. I haven’t run it yet. Found out this morning the harmonic balancer has a crack at the key way. I missed that when...

Crankshaft Speedi sleeve installation tip needed

I understand what you are saying. I think I will go with the cleanup and polishing as a first step. It may do what I need. If I can fit a second seal, I may try that with the polishing. I really appreciate your help thanks, Joe

Crankshaft Speedi sleeve installation tip needed

Not sure if I can get two on or not. I will have to check into that tomorrow. I never considered that. I do have room to get jb Weld on the nick. I’ve never done anything like that to a crank. Is there any chance of it letting loose? Would hate to have it clog a passage. thanks for the ideas! Joe

Crankshaft Speedi sleeve installation tip needed

Aztoyman, Toyota redesigned the seal. It’s now quite a bit thinner than the original. so I may be able to set it in a better spot. I'm dealing with a nick in the crank on this one. There is no groove. There is no room to get a chisel or other tool to the groove with the way it’s inset. I...

HI all, I have a nick on the front crank seal surface area. I have used Speedi sleeve in the past. But I have a problem on this 97 3.4. It’s like other Toyotas too. the inner edge of the sleeve has a flange that the installation tool uses to push the sleeve on. The flange is removable after...

Speedy sleeve on 5vz-fe 3.4 crankshaft

Hi all, Has anyone used a SKF speedy sleeve on the front crankshaft? This engine had a bad leak from the front crank seal. On disassembly I found a nick on the crankshaft surface. Fitting the speedy sleeve on the crank. I am concerned that the flange on the rear of the sleeve might alter oil...

    3.4 timing belt kit source

Thanks, it’s crazy that we can’t trust anything anymore. I watched a video by a ford tech showing the difference in packaging between the real ford stuff and the fakes. it was small differences in many cases. If you didn’t have the real thing next to the fake it would be hard to tell If you...

    3.4 timing belt kit source

hi, aztoyman, I did see mention of him. I wasn’t sure it was safe ordering from eBay. I hear of so many counterfeit parts being sold there. Were you convinced the parts were real Toyota parts? Thanks, Joe
