Cooling / Overheating issue. Super mysterious. Tried everything.

Does it actually overheat or just indicate hot? I had a similar issue after changing my water pump. Since it would inch toward red but not actually overheat I just drove it frustration. One day it just started working normally. Definitely an air bubble in there somewhere despite my efforts to...

Will you then show them available on your website? I don’t need a replacement, I’d just like to buy one. Thanks.

    Are these things really unreliable?

The only time my 60s been on a tow truck was way back when the smog pump seized. I used to take 1300 hundred mile ski trips with my sons where we hit a bunch of different resorts in the Rockies on the way north and then again south. The highway miles were spent in the right lane but I mostly...

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Brakes should have enough force to lock up. The best coefficient of friction occurs just before lock up. That’s why modern anti skid systems modulate between lockup and wheel spin. In the old days we were taught how to manually modulate the brakes. If the tire starts to skid let off the brake...

Building a 60 for family adventures

Hang in there. I wouldn’t bother to change the starter and alternator. Those are easy to change anytime. I would do the water pump.

    New FJ62 owner in Alaska

Nice looking project. I’m visiting Ak and just saw my first 60. I did see a yard with some 55s being reclaimed by the earth.

    How to Desmog an FJ60

The stock pump will work fine with a Weber. I’ve had cars with dual webers and a mechanical pump. Ive heard there may be problems with the float angle for severe off roading but Webers are very tuneable and there shouldn’t be “all manner of issues”. I know this is a big divided topic among LC...

What to do with my Running 2F Out of my 1985 FJ60

How many miles? Compression numbers? I need to rebuild mine so I may be interested to avoid downtime.

FJ60 1986 question re carb and EFI

I’ve read most of the Sniper (Efi) threads. The threads are long as far as tuning is concerned and there are failures of components which cause rough/no running situations . I’ve never had a carb fail on any of my vehicles, some which are almost 40 years older than my 60. The last thing I want...

LS3 C&C Automatic VS Manual.... thoughts??

A few switches with logic set in the start circuit could solve those fears. For example parking brake set and a neutral safety switch.

LS3 C&C Automatic VS Manual.... thoughts??

Why couldn’t you remote start a manual?
