Low beams don't work - sometimes. Then work again. Then don't.

Thank you both for the thought and explanation, I appreciate it. It's gonna take a bit of time and work to try to get familiar with all of that to see if I think I could try to diagnose and fix this myself. In the meantime though, do you have any thoughts on why they would only stop working...

Low beams don't work - sometimes. Then work again. Then don't.

Do you mind if I ask for more detail on the theory here? The aux lights are the ones not having problems - is your thought that they are taking some of the electrical draw away from the low beams?

Low beams don't work - sometimes. Then work again. Then don't.

Alright, so electrical gremlins are way above my pay grade. I've been having an issue where occasionally my low beams won't work. The high beams still work, as do a set of auxiliary driving lights which are wired to the low beams (they have their own switch inside, but they only work if the...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Hit up Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport Texas, and took my buddy the professional photographer along. I wish we had more good action shots, but he was enjoying the ride from inside so much, I didn't want to tell him to get out for more trail shots! Met a bunch of cool people and saw some great...

    Happy wIth LEDs...

Thanks, JonHeld, much appreciated. For posterity, and as an explainer for anyone looking for this information in the future... You have to remove the dead pedal (single bolt at the base, visible), and then pull the entire kick plate trim off the left side of the driver's side footwell, which...

    Happy wIth LEDs...

Reviving this thread to ask, where is the flasher relay located to swap out? I just replaced front turn signals with LEDs, and they are both hyperflashing now, though interestingly they flash at normal speed when used as hazard lights. So I guess two questions: (1) where is the turn signal...

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

North Dallas (Coppell), if anyone’s interested. It didn’t seem from the various threads on CO2 mounts that there was a generally agreed upon good way of doing this in metal. But if someone wants to engineer this in metal with me for less than $50, I guess I’m game to try…

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

Fair enough, but I can’t weld and don’t want to pay someone to customize a bracket for me that can just bolt in.

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

My bad! I saw the Powertank logo on the strap and made an assumption. If you fabricated that from scratch then I am duly impressed! I don’t have those skills or tools, so still looking for input on my sketched solution, but thanks for chiming in, and no need to delete anything, others might...

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

I really don't mean to be rude, but it appears that this is a PowerTank using a name brand PowerTank mount of some sort, and that's... not really what I'm asking here. I'm trying to do a cheap and effective, easily removable approach, and to get input on the specific idea that I posted. Don't...

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

Bolt… what to the body? The bracket attaches at like 6 bolt holes, but if I remove it then there’s no bracket… so nothing to attach the cylinder to.

    Input/Ideas on CO2 Tank Mounting

So I just put together a DIY PowerTank with stuff off Amazon for a little over $200. Should be all that I need, aside from the actual CO2. I had intended to put it on my roof rack with Quick Fist Super mounts, but I'm starting to get a bit nervous about whether it's sturdy enough for that much...

    Is it death wobble?

The tires are almost brand new, they went on just a couple of weeks before I took the rig into the shop. But the death wobble was happening before they were replaced (and the new tires were road force balanced when installed). I'm considering going to another shop and asking them to take a...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Last time I was off road, when I got back I went a little too crazy with the power washer, including in the engine bay. I'd avoided problems while being careful and lulled myself into a false sense of security. Ended up dealing with misfires in a couple of cylinders for a short while...

    Is it death wobble?

Alright, so... Sigh. The truck just spent a month in the shop. It took them pretty much all of that time just to give me a "diagnosis", and about one day to do the actual work. After all that time, they just took the spacers off the truck to fix the death wobble, and then told me that while...
