None of the above guys, no diff locks and it was full when I left.
And you missed the question, if its not leaking from the pinion, breather or the fill/drain then it has to be the axle seals right?
I dont want to pull the rear end apart only to find its not there.
Hi all,
I just wanted to double check that I am on the right track before I spend money and pull my rear end apart. (HJ47 fully floating rear)
Im loosing rear diff oil somewhere, about 1L over a 2,500km trip.
Its not coming out of the pinion (no oil marks) or the breather (again no oil...
afish67 that is good to here - can I ask where you got your 12v glow plugs? I had trouble finding mine and we are both in Aus.
If I bought I new to me HJ47 - the first thing I would do is remove the superglow - if it cant be fixed on the side of the road it doesnt belong in an old landcruiser.
I think Cruiserdeisel is confused between the EDIC and the Superglow?
the only risk to replacing with a switch is that you accidentally hold it on and kill your plugs and drain your battery
BIG WIRES - battery - 120A breaker - 120A relay (of the old superglow system) - Glow plugs (get 12v ones - ebay)
+
SMALL WIRES - battery - 10A breaker - push switch in dash - 120A relay (above)
pretty simple install I did idt recently with my HJ47 (1983) I used the old glow plug indicator...
Hi and sorry for the stupid thread title.
Im looking for photos of what people have done to the inside of their tub - particularly how far up the insides people have taken the liner. ?
I have seen alot of photos around the place but I cant find them when I need them!
Now this question is...
Thanks Marbles. I have a 120A relay in the shed.
I have ordered the glow plugs - Now I get to spend the weekend removing as much of the superglow system as I can.
To seal the intake manifold can I just plug the resistor holes with short bolts?
So you still run the resistor?
I was going to run the 11v plugs without any resistor straight of a relay - I want to stuff of all of the old relays and sensors ect.
Thanks for your help!
Im really over this superglow system - too complicated for an old landcruiser.
If I install 11V plugs can I run them at 12v straight from the battery? (ie simple, single relay, push button switch system)
will the 11v plugs die really quickly?
I have replaced the fusable links with circuit breakers and they are all still connected and fine.
I have ran up and down the glow system and Im still lost with whats wrong.
