Its the 1fz-fe. Stretched the head bolts and head gasket let go. Replaced head gasket with a Cometic MLS and some ARP studs instead of head bolts. Waiting on turbo to be built to strap to the side....
Well you know... just the usual, head gasket replacement, rebuild fuel injectors, extractors, new alloy radiator. Head rebuilt, replace harmonic balance seal and oil pump cover gasket.
To the OP, have a good look at the Kaymar rear bumper. These require no cutting of the rear crossmember and incorporate a rated 3500kg tow hitch. I put one of my 100 and Kaymar is pretty much the 'go to' brand here in Oz.
Dd my 2000 105. Cover 35 to 40k a year. Love it. Used to have a 62 that was a dd as well. Covered 320k in it without a problem. Landcruisers are a way of life here.
The way our road regulations are here in Australia, when you're fitting the kaymar stuff you wont have to cut or remove crossmembers etc, but drilling out and enlarging holes is normal on some.
The transport authorities here class removal of crossmembers as fairly serious and that leads to...
Logic would suggest that the last time you were in the injectors and playing around with Orings etc and the problem started, you need to go back and see what you missed. I think you'll find the auto trans leak is not related. Go back to the last thing you fiddled with before the problem started.
hahaha thanks guys! Yeah we do things all wrong here, steering wheel on the wrong side, photos upside down, water that swirls down drains the opposite way....
Thanks for the comments Beno, I really wasnt prepared for how big a step it is from the 60 to the 100, I'm in love all over again!!!
