A few pics from the most recent wheeling trips with this truck. Been working great with the dual cases and 3RZ swap.

I noticed that there are a couple things we've done with the truck since my last post. First off, I had found a great deal on a new Lock-Right locker for a Tacoma 8.4 diff a couple years ago. I bought it thinking I'd just hold onto it for a...
There are a few things I forgot to add to this thread. We made a simple vertical spare tire "mount" and brackets for a hilift and fuel can along with a weather proof aluminum surplus box to hold tools etc. This was done last year but I forgot...
I thought this might be helpful for someone out there. After my fuel tank rusted through while the truck was waiting to be loved again, I found that a fuel tank for an 83 was unobtainium. I found a 13.7 gallon tank listed for 1986-90 carb...
100% use the OEM toyota parts. Get the head gasket kit. They're still available and the best bet for long-term reliability.
Yotaparts sells a full small-hose kit for around $200 it's EVERY small hose, some are no longer available from the...
Welcome aboard, WireNut! Show us some pictures of that 40... Seems like we've had quite a few join in he past year or so. Not enough to offset the 80 representation, but so many of these are still on the roads,
Please welcome Douglas (@Wire Nut) to CopperStateCruisers.

I feel your pain with not being able to find new parts for these older rigs. Even used parts are definitely getting a lot harder to find and that is why I’ve spent the majority of the time I’ve owned my truck looking for spare parts. There aren’t...
Keep looking for a good used one. Even these guys:

Best place I've found that will actually search for parts is Cabe Toyota in Long...
Picked up a 2 for 1 deal. Both are 71s.
The one in the foreground is complete other than a seat and bumper and a few little things. That's OK, because the other one is a parts truck. It has no engine, no seat either, no windshield or rear...
That small diameter diagonal is for the Load Sensing Proportioning Valve, it detects how much weight is in the bed and adjusts the pressure to the rear brakes.
As for the rest, yes I can tell you all of itbis stock other than springs and shocks...
Seems like the trucks I see for sale are about 50/50, but since steering wheels are very easy to swap, I wouldn't use that as a measure.
If you want to sell that steering wheel let me know!
