Sounds like you are getting there. Before replacing with new, the idle solenoid, you can just remove it by unplugging at the green connector, unscrew it keeping an eye on the small o-ring on the end, then test it with the battery. You can actually see the little "nipple" go back and forth...
Search........idle solenoid...............might be of some help. Many, many threads on carbs and related issues. Will make your head spin as mine has many times. I am just trying to start you off. Idle solenoid needs to be plugged in and working in order for your carb to idle. Good luck !!
Have the Fumoto valve on all my vehicles. Very convenient to use especially if you're changing the oil when hot. One thing to keep in mind is that the oil drains slowly compared to removing the drain plug. I start mine draining, then move up to the oil filter removal, cleaning off various...
Might give Trollhole a shot. Not sure if he ships your way but can't hurt to ask.....

Seeking advice on an issue I have with my 2005 Tacoma. Was rejected for inspection because of a pinhole in the frame. 2005's of course are not recalled for frame problems, but I have a feeling they may end up being recalled.
I've done all the filing with the NHTSA, called Toyota and lodged a...
Looking good on those license plate lights ! Small steps are fine. I have a list of things and I slowly check them off as I go along. Have some major items I want to take care of, but they mean not driving my 40 and that is a hard thing to do. Keep up the good work.
