I just did the AHC delete. Drilling the holes in the floor for the rear was key! Thank you LostAfrican!!! They came out easy. I went oversize with a 2" hole and was able to get at the 12mm bolts for the AHC system. Also FYI, the top of my shocks were a 19mm fitting.
Waiting on the Ironman...
Thanks guys... it doesn't take much to convince me. I know what you are saying. I've had some steering and suspension issues recently and it's been costly. I always wonder when to draw the line... but the option is $25-30k on a used vehicle that will suffice. I keep coming back to the same...
The time has come for me to move on from my '89 HJ61. I don't want to... I'd drive it forever but my family and work situation have changed. She's getting a bit tired and I need something newer. I'm asking you if you think I would be better off parting it out or just cutting ties and selling...
Just my opinion but the LX470 is my favourite vehicle to drive. It's so f..ing smooth and has more than enough power. The list is long with the things I love about it.
Purchased a new motor. Sunroof still doesn't work. Something must have come disconnected. WTF? I've chased every wire back and can't find the problem!!!
Motor was on the bench. Thanks for answering. The fact that it runs on the bench made me think its a wiring problem. I'll try 1 more thing before purchasing a new motor. Thanks.
So I put 24 volts to the motor (disconnected to the gears) and the motor spins. There is a disconnect between the directional switch (open or close) and power. I'm confused. I get power to the switch but the switch doesn't do anything. I feel like I could bypass the switch but not control...
While driving offload last year my sunroof stopped working. I let it slide over the winter but want it back again. It's not the motor. When I power the motor it turns. It must be the switch, right? But I replaced the switch and still have no power to the motor. Something must've come loose...
Keep the bumper!! I love having the big bumper. It's like a tail gate on the front. It's also good for standing on when working in the engine bay. Keep the bumper dude.
How does it go? Tell me it goes like s*** off a shovel. You have just completed my long term plan, although I highly doubt my rebuilt 12HT will be as clean as yours. Mine is currently in my 61 as is dirty as f#@*! It's a nice ride but bleeds oil. This is definitely an inspiration.
-Lift and support frame (hoist)
-Remove tires and let axle hang.
-Support axle at this height with axle jacks.
-Cut off old u-bolts
-Remove shackle and fixed bolts
-Smash out old suspension
- Install shackle end first
- Install fixed side (centre of truck)
- Install u-bolts and shock plate and...
Hi,
I had someone make me front leaf suspension last year but decided not to use them. I changed my mind and decided to get OME front and back. I never installed my previously ordered springs but kept the hardware, such as the bushings and u-bolts. I went to install my OME kit today, with...
I've got 2 brand new front leafs custom made by Canada Spring in Vancouver. Never installed. I decided to go with OME so have these as extra. When sitting next to the OME they have more of an arc. Let me know if you are interested in buying them and we can chat. The OME leafs in the picture...
