ok. That's what I thought I was going to be, an F series. I just don't think I can squeeze that down into the engine bay of a '85 Toyota.
Thanks for the info.
So would that be a straight 6 Long Block? I'm actually trying to find a 4 cylinder diesel that is still mechanically injected. (I want to get away from all that computer junk.)
Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow. I now see I started a duplicate thread, but I don't know how to remove that one. Hope you all can bear with a forum rookie such as myself.
So I have located a Mitsubishi 4D31 that I understand comes with a turbo, however I'm also told that it would spit oil out the valve cover breather while under heavy loads. I'm wondering if it may have an exhaust valve going down in it. The bigger question is where can a man locate all the...
oh. and I believe the MB OM617 is a 5 cylinder diesel which I really can't see fitting in the engine compartment of the 85 truck, but I do appreciate the come back and giving me some other options to look at.
I keep looking for some of these other engines mentioned and either can't find them or are way out of my price range to purchase.
Mjosoba, you say that's a massive engine. Do you happen to know how much it weighs? I know the 22r weighed in between 250-350 lbs. I want to stay close to that...
1985 pick up. I guess this is called a mini? It's a 4 wheel drive that did have the r22 engine in it. Since someone stole the radiator, carb, intake, head and what ever else they could lift and take for scrape when the truck was left unattended one day, I figured what better time than to drop a...
Well, that gives me somewhere to start if I do go with this engine. I've been trying to find some specs on it but can't seem to find the right sight. All that the owner could tell me is that it is all mechanical which is one thing I am looking for.
Thanks again for your 2 cents worth, duncanrm.
I hope some of you knowledgeable members can help me out. I'm looking at a 4D31 Mitsubishi engine that came out of a 1990 Fuso to swap into my '85 Toyota 4x4. I understand that it spits oil out of the valve cover breather under heavy sustained loads. Does anybody know what the cause and remedy...

Well after much extensive searching, and though it looks as if the 1KZT would be a wonderful power horse for my little Toytoy, I, unfortunately, am very limited to the Toyota diesel engine population here in the United States. Looks like I just might have to go with a Mercedes of something...
