Skipped the boring bits! Lots of hammer and dolly work to get oil canning out of that large patch area. It’s a lot better than I started with! Requires a bit more though. Spot welding to come

Sorry to spam. Did some more welding today. The lip from the tray floor, where the sides are spot welded to had rusted through in a few places, so before doing the sheet metal I addressed those issues.

Mate, I actually like the patina. I’m thinking I will address any rust holes, and clean up the surface corrosion in the worst places. Leaving the inside of the tray and the majority original for now and just enjoy it. A full respray maybe down the track. My major focus is mechanical at the...

First repair complete, not perfect as you can vaguely see the infill piece on the top edge, although filler will remove that. I will also mark with a straight edge the level of existing spot welds, drill and re weld some new ones.

It begins! Unfortunately the angle section is rusted through in a few areas so I’ll be replacing that as well.

I also welded up the sump, she’d completely rusted through on the bash guard so, drilled her out and Tacked in a new piece, new one on the way from Toyota so this is only a temp fix. Made a very farm spec side exit exhaust too. Only temporary was just sick of the noise without a muffler. Cheers
