Thanks so much !
Well Commander -
I am a much better reader than contributor, but in the last week this thread has woken me from a miserable few years. My 40 has been 'garaged' for almost 5 years - through several moves, a separation and then divorce and although it has my love, its needed...
Had some ongoing issues with turn signals and tailights. Finally bit the bullet and re-wired a new set-up in the problem side.
Now, my turn signal seems to slow down and occassionally come to a complete stop.
Thought I had this solved.
Is this something different or am I back to chasing a...
Thanks dargreg - will give it a try.
(Im a zero  mechanic - always worried about making things worse than better by opening things i know nothing about)
The top latch on my amby door seems to have lost 'its spring'.
The latch goes up by using some help from the handle, but the first bump it falls back into the door and allows the doors to swing open.
Is there (a) a way to get into the doors and (b) a way to fix this ?
Thx
Thats exactly it - I watched several group orders take shape and happen, thinking it'll take too long to wait...
...then the orders were in, and I had still done nothing to get a top.
So I went in on the last one w/SouthBoston.. and low and behold, now I have one.
But if you'd rather just...
Install Question -
Thanks again Boston for all of your hard work.
With the early arrival of winter in Ontario, I havent even considered opening up my box and checking out my new top. C'mon spring !
I did have one quick install question come to mind however -- after you install the bows and...
Okay, getting ready to peel away the top and (hopefully) the doors. In the past, I have left the doors on for the summer, given my experience with the top hinge.
Is there a trick or easy way to get this hinge off and on ? I spend as much time with my hand and wrench coaxing, pulling and...
So, I have some surface rust starting to show through the paint (obviously painted over by the previous owner). Little places where you would expect to see it: bottom of doors, bottom of hard top, in and around gas door.
Being a no:banana::wrench:, what's my best course of action ? Should I...
I've used 4wheelauto.com -- they are in Edmonton I believe.
Haven't used them for anything more than small parts, so can't comment too much... but had good service and quick turnaround the time or two i have purchased something.

Hey Justin -
Can you post up a pick of the back of the cluster ? As a relative noob, I am trying to figure out if I can use this on my 80 FJ40.
Greatly appreciated !
