If Curtice decides to pass may I ask what you want for it? I have a rolled '79 that needs the whole assembly - frame, glass, wiper motor and linkage, etc.

Hi, I desperately need one of these for a rolled '79 I bought. Please let me know what happens with the sale pending, if its still available.

Its been sold, hope you find what you're looking for.

Thank guys for the responses. Coolerman, so far I am unable to find the 10ga White/Blue wire coming out of the main engine harness near the battery or the male 7.9mm connector. Apparently the connector was removed along with the fusible link...

Bought a '79 40 with some badly modified wiring (yeah, its the one with all the wire nuts), attempting to return it to stock, make it run. The schematic shows a white with blue stripe wire running to the battery +post from either an external VR...

Had no luck trading it so for sale I have a '65 and earlier FJ40 Top with horizontal fold up hatch, all glass intact. Its not the prettiest thing but if you need one it may fit the bill. Weatherstripping is gone and it has holes drilled here and...

Found some info searching but not definitive. Has anyone installed these 70 series front turn signal lamps from SOR on the side aprons of a 40? Is the space big enough without modifying/moving the hood latches? Pics are appreciated. My lamps...

Just came in, too dark to continue. Yes, I found Coolerman's list of schematics last night, really appreciate those being there, thank you. It does have factory air and incredibly it works, blows cold air immediately. For the record, I...

Will do. Thanks for the responses. Clean up is the plan, you don't know the half of it. The cab is just as bad - wire running everywhere, mystery switches that don't work, etc. Trying to trace each one back to its source, see if I can...

Trying to restore some semblance of the stock wiring to a '79 FJ40 that was badly abused. Looked at a Haynes schematic, I don't see this device. What is it please and what should be connected to each of the 3 terminals?

I guess I can't tell without lowering it, pardon my lack of knowledge. Below are 2 photos of the knob areas. The PO had some small speakers mounted on the dash below the pad, the holes are drilled as opposed to punched., i.e. they are not...

Not sure I understand the question, there are 2 knobs with threaded studs extending through the dash pad like my '78. I assume they are screwing into similar brackets. I'll look at it tomorrow in the daylight. Thanks guys for the information.

It has 2 motors, looks like the PO installed an intermittent controller, see photos. I tried turning them on a moment ago with no success. The PO said they work, apparently there is a secret handshake of some kind. The wiring in this rig is...

Apologies for the duplicity, still learning to use the site. My bad, I should have posted to Classifieds. the first time. I'm not suggesting using the mid model year hatch with the older top, it's merely another item for trade. Thanks Bear...

Recently acquired a '79 FJ40 used to maintain rural property where it lived a hard life and was once rolled over. Previous owner found an early top with the corrugated sides and horizontal fold up hatch in a wrecking yard along with an early...

Some years ago (decades?) there was a fellow in Albany, Oregon named Ross who owned a 4 wheel shop specializing in Land Cruisers. Legend had it he was the inventor of the shackle reversal, he sold kits locally made. He also had nifty items like...
