That happened because the ubolt nuts were tightened to the FSM spec — which is only relevant for stock springs and ubolts. When everything is stock, the nut bottoms out at 90 ft-lbs or whatever it is and can’t screw down any farther because...

Got the second coat of POR15 in and then used up the rest of the Kilmat I had purchased for the doors. One 36ft^2 box did both front doors and most the rear sides. My trailer light converter box VHB tape failed and the box was laying in the rear...

Wow, the more you look into diffs the deeper and more of a maze of different bearings and kits and pinions there is. I got a drivetech diff kit with bearings, crown, pinion and flange the whole kaboodle, crush sleeve too. It was a good price, I...

I'm quite certain that the indirect injection non turbo engines run the most timing advance. Mechanical cummins engines run no advance mechanism. Have a look at this table, every degree of pump timing is two degree of crank rotation.

Same for me, was wondering if springs got less strong. Was wondering if it could be possible to use a device which take position of the crank and pressure from cylinder (glow plug). These device take #1 TDC and compression and peak pressure of...

with the timer on your bench, remove the circlip, and slightly twist while pulling the two halves apart, dodge the flying shrapnel, then pull apart the other two timers you have from the other broken engines, stack all the shims together and...

Alright so heres the key to breaking 3b cranks, as I have done it twice now, once a tired motor, once a rebuilt motor. Both times, 14-18 psi of boost, intercooled, two different turbos Gt2560r, hx30. First had some timing added, second had...

My front main seal was leaking something fierce so I replaced it. Removing the crank bolt was more difficult than on a previous engine I did. The starter trick couldn't crack the bolt, it was just bending the breaker bar against the frame. Then I...

@Gun Runner 5 it's a 1995 Subaru Sambar. The only 4 cylinder kei truck variant I believe....5 speed, push button T case, crawler low gear, and A/C. It's the perfect little ranch truck. I just taught my 10 year old daughter how to drive it...

Cleaning internal of rear axle housing, removed the deflector to inspect. No way you could clean it whilst installed. Interesting to me. 24 bucks on amayama for a replacement.

Just wrapped up the captains chair middle row mod. I started by moving the bench seat to the rear. Details on that found here: HZJ77 - adding a 3rd row The rear bench still folds forward, so there is still plenty of storage back there. I...

Something that should have been done four years ago, but I thought I'd find a better door to replace this one. Yep, pretty stupid.

As far as the install I tried to get a couple pictures for you, I just bent up a piece of metal with a bolt to pinch the outer sheathing of the cable then just looped it around to the lever on the injection pump. Simple but functional.

I am happy to take the glass out again if I go down that route.. but I am very much tending towards stick on sound deadening (neatly cut and applied).. I want to put an overhead console in and having access to the roof space to apply rust...

Hi, newbie here, I live in Costa Rica and am now on my second BJ70 (BJ70LV-MR) She has 570,000km's and still pulls in all 5 gears, 3b motor. AC isn't great and I'm looking for a new compressor. needs a few bits and pieces of plastic but really...

Installed an under hood 12V power source. Only real place I could find to mount. It’s going to be a pain adding wiring for accessories. Oh well.

The Dakota cluster, gauges, and sensors are very spendy, but super attractive and work very well. I did all the wiring and sensor installation, and it’s not that difficult. Perhaps the biggest early obstacle was creating a 12 V power source As...

If it were a lower hp/torque motor I would (2F, 12HT, R2.8, 5.3). The coils in the rear are not as stable and the leafs handle the power way better. Even with an adjustable shock cranked up the body roll at hard throttle is too much for some...

I asked the same thing when I was trying to get mine to come down. Mine had a rubberized sheet thingy where it made contact. But yeah... It didn't wanna leave it's home.
