Thanks for the replies. Typically, the idle is great at startup and once the engine warms up it will sometimes drop very low to around 300-400 rpms but it never dies. It doesn't always do it but it does sometimes. I re-checked the TPS again today using the FSM standards and it appears good...
I have a 1993 80 series that is throwing these codes. Did some searching and read about needing a new ECU but I pulled down my glove box and see that my cruiser does have the updated ECU (ends in 1) and was manufactured in July of 93.
So, I also read about the TPS being bad and how it could...
disconnected the line from the MC and checked for fluid movement before the "T" and the fluid shot out super hard. So, I think this means the MC is good. But, is it possible that it is shooting fluid out because there is no load? Maybe when I connect everything back up it doesn't build enough...
Ok, back from the move. Still got a ton to do but I looked at the 80 for a bit this afternoon. I disconnected the line at the MC and fluid seemed to shoot out just fine. Since its been sitting a while I decided to bleed the system again. Started rear right and got out a few bubbles, then rear...
Thanks, I'll check for pressure right after the MC. I have replaced the rubber lines and have blown out both the hard lines, soft lines, and bleeder valves. I know for sure that I don't have any issues with a blockage in the lines. I do not get fluid coming out of the lines, even when...
Hoosier Daddy, your my daddy. Thanks a million! I did check for pressure after the ABS module. I was nervous about shooting brake fluid sky high so my friend slowly depressed the pedal until I saw fluid come out. Not sure if that means it was working effectively or not.
I do get a bump in...
I am beginning to think maybe the master cylinder is bad. My brake pedal is slow to return up. I just don't really understand the brake system on the 80. Two lines from the Master Cylinder. One goes to the ABS module and the other goes to a T fitting with one end going to the ABS and the other...
I wish that was the case. I have blown out all the nipples or bleeder screws. Is there a combination valve or something that would prevent the fronts from getting fluid?
Wrapping up knuckle rebuild and new F & R brakes. Bled the rear brakes just fine. Went to bleed the front and I cannot get any fluid to come out of the bleeder screw and noticed that the pistons were not moving. Suspected blocked line so I took them apart and blew them all out with compressed...
Hello, I have a 93 cruiser with 195k. It had a real rough idle when I bough it but put in new plugs, cap and rotor and it smoothed out pretty good. I am however having issues with the idle speed wanting to change on me depending on the day. It will vary between 450 and 800 rpm, but it doesn't...
I am selling a 1994 FZJ80 with the factory front and rear locking differentials. I purchased this cruiser about a month ago but was just offered a new job and will be moving in March with no place to store it.
The 80 is a project vehicle as the engine needs a new power steering pump and water...
Hello,
I am about to do a knuckle rebuild on my 80 and noticed that the DS birfield clicks on tight turns every now and then. It isn't regular or constant but I have heard it a few times. So, I started looking into replacement outer shafts and saw the Febest ones on amazon. Did a search here...
Been searching google and on here for the past half an hour with out much luck. Can an A340F out of a 00-04 tundra mate to the cruiser HF2A case? Is there an adapter? Thanks
Been a number of years since I have posted on this forum. Anyhow, picked up a 1993 FZJ80 with just shy of 200k for a few thousand. Not great shape but runs decent and has factory lockers so it was worth it I suppose.
Check engine light popped up today and I read about the paper clip jumper...
