I did get it to run better, and the new owner drove it home and said it idled down when he got home. I am sure he will be reading this too, so I will pass on the info to him. Thanks for the link and support.

The truck sat outside today and ran with the choke out 1/2 way for about 20 minutes then I pushed the choke in slowly and it died. I started it...
Well I drained the fuel tank and cleaned out the line, replaced the fuel filter and installed the newly rebuilt carb. I was surprised to have it run exactly the same. Oh well. :o

I am hoping to have my carb back next week some time. Does anyone have any suggestions to drain the fuel tank? I have a large aftermarket tank that appears to have a thick protective plate held in place by 4 bolts/studs. Do I just pull the lowest fuel line off and jack up...
Just a little update, I am still waiting for my carb to be rebuilt by fj40jim. I sent it out 1/12/11. I would really like to get it back so I could get it on the truck and see if it runs better. Nothing new other than that. I do have power to the rear window motor but it won't move or even...
