Not super elegant, but works very well. It actually looks like I did 2 wraps, the left side wraps around the base, and 1 side has a bowline knot so there is a loop in the end so that I could get a 2 to 1 pull on it while tightening it. You basically have to tie and try until you get the opening...

I also did not like how violently it opened. My solution: 550 cord I tied 550 cord on 1 end, then wrapped around the gas strut about 3-4 times, and tied it tight on the other end with the door about halfway open. Now I can pop the door handle and let it swing. when it gets half way open the 550...

I'm pretty new to this concept. What knowledge would someone need to be able to get more acceleration or fuel economy out of a GX470? Are there "presets"? What are the dangers of messing with this stuff? Would you be able to do what pedal commanders etc. do?

I would be interested to know about the bottom mounts and hose routing you use as well for the rear hybrid setup. I assume you are using the factory compressor?

FYI, the HIDs are plug and play as well. You just have to plug a ballast in and zip tie or double stick tape it somewhere. I thought the same thing, that they required some sort of wiring harness and relays etc. I believe some cars require this, but mine didn't even with 55W lights. I'm sure all...

I installed my HID kit the other day. It is miles beyond the LED low beams I had. They don't instantly turn on like LEDs but much brighter, more even, and better throw. I'll throw a pic in for fun. Not that headlight pictures are all that useful... The slight glare is visible on mine as well.

I installed some 9600 Lumen Hikari LED low beam bulbs that I bought on sale at amazon for $25 in a Lightning deal. The color was nice and white, but overall I felt like they didnt actually put out much light. Whenever a car would drive by with HIDs or factory LEDs my headlights would disappear...

Did you have to remove the quarter window? What seal did you use? I have the same issue especially if I park with the front lower than the rear.

*SOLVED* I saw over on the 4runner forum someone said that they had to hold down the lock and unlock buttons for less that 1.5 seconds. So I went back and tried it and if I just quickly push both buttons it doesn't fail. The key from 1010keys took a long press, OEM took a short press. 1010 keys...

Today I have a totally dead battery. I am attempting to charge it back up (still had plenty of water/electrolyte) not sure if it was from overcharging it and damaging it, or if something is draining it. Any ideas on troubleshooting that? or does it all seem consistent with a bad alternator...
