Lost / Gator - thanks for the responses. A torque converter would be great news! After I pulled over on Monday night, I did put it in park. At one point, I did put the 4wd into neutral. In fact, as I was sitting there going through Mud threads, I had it in 4wd N, with the transmission in P -...
Guys, my transmission went out last night (or so the Toyota dealership is telling me) and I would love to get your input.
I have had my 2001 LC for roughly 1.5 years and started baselining it when I got it (previously rebuilt a 1997 LC). It currently has 315k on the clock and I bought it...
Thanks guys - much appreciated. Sounds like I am good to go.
The mechanical assembly marks (marks on the cam and crank pulleys) are correct at TDC. Thanks for the affirmation - I was starting to question my sanity after a good night's sleep.
Thanks again for the sanity check!
I am in the middle of baselining my engine and changing out the timing belt on my daily driver (2UZFE hundy with 300,000 miles). I am also strictly following my Toyota FSM and cleaning up some other items along the way (new crankshaft seal and various hoses).
While putting on the timing belt...
Any real time help I can get would be much appreciated. I've rebuilt the rear axle of my hundy and fully followed the FSM (wouldn't dare try without it), but I have a quick question before buttoning it all back up.
I did the grease test between the retainer ring and the inner axle seal - I...
I bought a 2001 with busted JBL speakers. I used to have a 1997 FZJ80 and had completely gutted my head unit and speakers - installed a CDT amp + speakers. When I got my 2001 UZJ100, I decided not to go that route again. I decided to rebuild the JBL speakers with a speaker rebuild kit from...
SST 09521-60010 came after 09521-25021?
....can anyone confirm this is right adapter plate? The geometry seems like it may work, but hoping for confirmation.
Thanks
Following the FSM, I've purchased all the parts for this jobs (will post up part numbers). I had seen minor smoke coming from the rear axle when I got out of my car 2 weeks ago and had to park my daily driver handy.
After some research through mud, realized that my axle seal was a likely...
Guys - thanks for the input. I ordered the dust seal (A90304-A0001) and need to pick it up. However, I think I'll spend some time trying to straighten out the bent one on the reman OEM CV (abuck, it's not nearly as bad as yours was - makes me a little hopeful!).
I'll post up and let you know...
Do we have a confirmation on the part number for the outboard CV dust seal? I think the part 2001LC shows above is the oil seal (isn't that correct?).
I ordered a reman OEM CV drive shaft for the driver's side and the dust seal has been bent up in shipping. Was planning to order up a new...
