Checked valves and most were a little tight and one was loose, I think #3. Not sure how I didn't notice before but the manifold studs are in pretty bad shape so going to order a set. Hopefully the tight valves were the problem.
I did and could not find an area with an obvious change but will do this again when running again.
Thanks @Skeet, the problem is I can't get it to idle low enough to start that process. I've tried various settings of the mixture screw with no major change to how it runs.
I've tried to read as many of the "only running when choke pulled" threads as I could find but I'm still trying to figure this one out. The engine will run ok when choke is pulled and runs at around 1200 rpm with a low, steady vacuum reading around 12 (at sea level). At lower rpm it will die and...
I received this transmission and transfer case free with a 2F a few years ago. They were pulled from an 83 FJ60 and that's about all I know. The intake and exhaust manifolds came as extra parts from rigs I've purchased. Hoping someone will take all of it. Local pickup only in Pacific City, OR.
Without making any bracket changes the passenger side sits a decent amount higher than the driver side.
I think I'm going to cut the adapters at the red line front and back so it rests in the "pan" and then weld to the support tubes, not sure yet. I'll likely also cut the tabs on the seat...
Took apart the bench seat and will be able to use the adapters with some modification.
Bolt holes on the side line up
I'll need to drill through the tube to mount the front or weld some tabs to the bottom. I'll use the rest of the bench mount for a center console at some point. The factory...
Here are some pics from the start of my Procar Pro-90 bucket seat install. Figured there might be some interest in seeing how their adapters mount. 72 FJ40 with a build date of 9/71, had the full passenger side bench seat.

It looks like someone went after this carb with a hammer and screwdriver. My dumb question, is this anything I need to worry about (get a different carb) or am I good to move on with my attempt at a rebuild? I'm thinking these won't cause any problems, other than being ugly, but idk.
