Dan - Do you happen to remember how you removed the transfer case shifter from the base? This is required to use the new style base. There is a spring pin which I've removed but the assembly still does not seem to budge. Perhaps just more force? Or heat? Thanks!

Granted, this post is old as dirt, but I just did this conversion and thought the attached diagram might help folks figure it out.
