Depo reproductions, $13.52 each. Yes, I've bought them and yes, they fit and look fine.

If that's fake, then they did a remarkable job cosmetically. Here's a Toyota 23221-66040 ordered from Amayama UAE in Feb 2023:
The one on the left with the grey cap is the original fuel pump that came on my 80. The one on the right with the yellow cap is the new unit.
My Denso died after only about five years. Reinstalled the factory pump that I kept as a spare (removed at ~253k mi) and it died within a couple more months. 23221-66040 fits and has been problem-free since last year.
There was a huge recall on Toyotas (and others) that used Denso fuel pumps...
Try searching for your year and model on this site:

I have no idea where they're getting their data, but it looked reasonably close to me. Alternatively, you have to go to an upholstery supply house and look through every swatch book they have. It's going...
You cannot sell a vehicle in California that doesn't pass the smog test without signing something that explicitly states that it's non-operational.
Additionally, buying a 30 year old vehicle when you don't have mechanical skills is foolish.
You've been scammed. Use the law to your benefit.
@JuanJ thank you very much! This might be really good news for the 80-Series owners.
Is there a PDF version of the FSM available for these models? I haven't been able to find one, or at least not one with the evaporative system in it. I'd like to verify that it has internal check valves and...
JFC you're trying to push the seal through the body of the pump! You better hope you didn't crack or deform anything. The seal comes out in exactly the opposite direction of what you were attempting.
The inner pump plate should come out by smacking the body flat against a surface. If that...
Can someone tell me the diameter and height of the charcoal canister on the 70 Series? According a parts website, 77740-60410 was used between 2001 - 2009 on the FZJ71, FZJ76, FZJ78, and FZJ79. I searched the forum and didn't find anything. Maybe nobody here has one of these gasser models...
That looks almost identical to the 80-series rear wiper relay (85940-60020), and someone on that forum had nearly the same failure points as you:

Weak. Spreading dangerous misinformation is a bad idea. Your actions could actively harm people.
You sure wrote a wall of text for someonen who doesn't care.
Let me know when you have a mechanical engineering degree. Then we can get started on an actual discussion. In the meantime, learn...
@richmondbob is spreading misinformation. Don't listen to him or anyone else whose hobby is screwing around with 30+ year old vehicles. Go read what actual automotive engineers have to say about the issue that they spend entire careers studying. Look at statistics on the types of injuries...
