    Builds Fugly's Yota

Well the basement is about finished and it was time to get the motor up into the garage to finish. I have a few sticks of 1.5” 1/8” wall tubing, so how abut a people powered hoist? Weld on some tabs for the chain, screw in a few head studs and walk up the stairs. Problem solved!

    Cordless tool help

I started down the road with Rigid in 2009, I have Multiple drills, impacts, saws, etc. They're only 18v but for me they get it done. I still have one big 4ah battery that’s 6+ years old. I just picked up a new brushless hammer drill and it will get its first real test tomorrow drilling holes to...

    What are you working on?

Kinda. The bare block is about 200lbs. It went into the basement over the winter with my brother and I carrying it down. Then dad and I built the short block, so add 100 lbs or so of crank, pistons, rods, oil pump, cam, etc. So now it’s a short block and about 300 lbs. Heads are built and ready...

    What are you working on?

Still kicking here, no progress on the 40, but I did order the last engine parts for the SBC rebuild a few days ago. Got to figure out how to get 300 lbs or so of SBC short block out of the basement BY MYSELF in this BS (Ok, wife can help, but still....) Thinking strap it to a large wheeled hand...

    What are you working on?

Still working on the basement, FJ40 on pause until that’s done and my jobs secure enough to buy the last $150 of engine assembly parts

    What are you working on?

So the deal was after the new year, I would take a break on the Cruiser and finish the basement for my girls to have a playroom and store toys downstairs, rather than have them all over the living room and dining room. So that’s started, half the basement will be storage and craft/work room for...

    Local For Sale/Wanted Section!

I’d be all over this if any of the flanges had the space. Unfortunately they’re not the round ones that have meat for new holes, they’re the rectangular ones that can’t work with each other.

    Local For Sale/Wanted Section!

Looking for a front output flange for a split case with the 66 x 66 mm pattern. One I have is 68.5 x 60 mm, and the front axle and driveshaft I’m going to retube are both 66 x 66 mm. I live in South Jersey, but travel from here to Exton & Malvern, New Brunswick/Princeton, down to Wilmington, DE.

Local Driveshaft Help - Need a Heavy Wall Shaft Built

Once upon a time a buddy who worked at a big rig truck shop and I built a 1/4” wall rear drive shaft for my old rig that balanced to 75+ mph. It laughed at all but the biggest hits, and even when it got a little bent, Hesperia Driveshaft straightened it while we waited for parts for the race...

Thanks, hopefully the suspension works as well as I’d like. I’m sure it will need some tuning but overall i’m happy I went with it. Outriggers were clutch for the wider axles. Ruff Stuff makes some good .......... stuff :)
