All monotube shocks are high pressure. Usually from 250 to 300 psi. There is a "floating piston" that separates the shock oil from the high pressure gas (usually nitrogen). The reason for the high pressure is to reduce the likelihood of oil cavitation. This helps to reduce oil foaming and...

Go with the B46-1477 / B46-1478 shocks. They are bolt in and valved specifically for your truck. The 5150 fail on both accounts.

Sort of ... If I start to coast with the throttle closed ... no growling. If I tip in just enough to keep going it will start again.

The growling occurs while I'm just crowding the throttle. Just enough to maintain a steady speed around 40 mph.
