You're either close to the "tow limit" of the vehicle or exceeding it, based on whatever model you have. I'd either beef it up (trans cooler, trailer brakes, add-a-leaf/air bag) or get a tow vehicle like you mentioned.
How much can the Tundra tow?
TOTAL CHAOS FABRICATION - 2000-2006 Tundra 2WD & 4WD Upper Control Arm Suspension Kit
These will work. See JD Films sequoia in this thread. Page 2. Anyone here have any experience with Sequoias?
We have a Tundra (2012 I think) that pulls our work trailer (24ft) daily. It's on the road (TN, NC, SC and FL) 45 weeks a year. No problems.
Why don't you wait for a year or two and see if Toyota will come out with a more fuel efficient competitor against the domestics. After 10 years...
Yea, I think that's high. $25K for an '08 with 155K mi is too much IMO. I paid $10K LESS for my '07 Limited 4X4 (leather, captains in middle row) with 148K mi, one owner, service records at dealer. It's clean, as mint as one could expect for 148K mi. I know this one has the newer motor, but...
Had a key cut at Lowe's for the Seqouia and tried to use it today. Strangest thing I've seen happened. The engine would turn over but would not start, and would continue turning over until you flipped the key back to the off position. Basically you would flick it once to the start position and...

Oil leaking around the heads and valve cover gaskets. Gotta do mine. Know if you want air bags or not, and the pros/cons. Gee, that's it. They're great.
For the limited stuff you say you want to do with a vehicle the Sequoia seems to be best. Better mileage, sleep inside easily, less things to break, enough aftermarket for your mild offroading desires (lifts and bumpers {see other thread}), holds all your camping gear without making you feel...
