LC versus LX Steering Rack ?

JohnnyMackerel, I can say that I’ve never used Tech Stream, and I wouldn’t know where to start with it. All the VGRS equipment is up higher on the steering column, and I seem to recall that it’s not even in the engine bay. For sure, I didn’t touch it during the replacement. I did not have to...

LC versus LX Steering Rack ?

I’m at about 173k miles on my 2004 LX now, and no problems. No issues with alignment, steering response, or VGRS. For what it’s worth, I’m getting to the end of my life on the Michelin Defenders (275/70 R18) I put on at 98k miles, and they have worn perfectly with just alignments at installation...

To clarify, are you selling the one you removed? Or, are you selling the new one?

Brake Caliper mounting bolts! Replace them when removed. Alert Alert Alert

Thanks for sharing this. I had a rear caliper bolt come all the way out once. The other bolt on the same caliper worked lose, but wasn’t quite out when I heard the noise. The caliper would bounce up and rotate down on the rotor when I went over a bump. Fortunately, I was able to get a bolt...

LC versus LX Steering Rack ?

A couple of weeks ago, I installed a Toyota rack in my 2004 LX. The alignment shop had no problem with the alignment. The vehicle steers very well. I can’t see any signs of a trade-off to using the Toyota part in place of the Lexus part. I used a Toyota Part No. 44250-60100 in a 2004 LX.

For those who removed their AHC, what were the "gotchas" during install?

I removed my AHC two weekends ago. My AHC failed on the road, and I also wanted something simpler going forward. Like others have said, I would plan on it taking a while. I’m slow, and I was working by myself, but I can’t see how I could have done it in one day. It did make a mess, but it’s just...

    Seat Belt Hanger

Would anyone who has replaced these hangers be able to share any pointers on removing the old ones? I've got new ones ordered for my third row, but I haven't had much luck removing the existing broken ones. Were you able to pry them out without scratching the panel?

    Problems after AHC Removal

Bump. I was wondering the same thing.

Happy to say that I just ordered a raw set for my LX470! Glad to see so many others taking advantage of this, too.

    Rattling Noise at Idle

I had a similar situation when my serpentine belt tensioner pulley bearing was going out. You could confirm by removing the belt and turning the pulley by hand. Check the idler pulley, too.

Center Diff lock motor maintenance to maximize longevity?

I paid about $560 shopped from McGeorge Toyota. The part number is 36410-60061. Getting to the actuator was pretty easy with small hands. I just crawled underneath the truck and felt around on top of the T-case. There were three or four bolts to remove and a wire to disconnect. I did not have...

Center Diff lock motor maintenance to maximize longevity?

This is my first post, but I wanted to share that I have swapped out the CDL actuator on my 2004 LX. It took less than 30 minutes and didn’t require any special tools. I did use some Ultra Black to seal around the edges. I bought my LX at 97k miles, and I suspect the POs never used the CDL...
