DIY: Replacing heater hose pipe T's *important*

Just did this job over the weekend. For the record, two of the hoses I needed for my ’04 were different than listed further up in this thread (which I assume were for a ’98 – ’02). According to the dealer, based on my VIN, I needed these: T-fittings 2 x 87248-60460 Hoses 87245-6A180...

    '04 Mystery Noise

The only problem is that to troubleshoot, the car has to be in gear. That means I have to have complete trust in my wife's ability to keep her foot on the brake and not think about my life insurance policy...

    '04 Mystery Noise

That's what I'm most afraid of. Wouldn't the manifold make noise even in P or N?

    '04 Mystery Noise

Sounds like I have a busy weekend ahead. I might need to ignore this for another week!

Thanks everyone. Going to check it out next time I have time when the truck is cold!

For Sale 1999 LC Just Traded to Dealer in ATL

It is such a shell game - they could say that they gave me more $ on the trade or that they gave me a discount on the purchase price of the car I bought. Best guess is that they are into the trade for ~$7000 +/-. Of course, depending on their math, they could say that they're losing money on...

    '04 Mystery Noise

Great suggestions. Is there a way to check them? Could I tell anything visually?

    '04 Mystery Noise

Apologies - I'm usually annoyed by posts about noises (how helpful can you be without hearing it?) but here I am doing it. I would make a video but I'm away from the car. Anyway, my '04 with 126k has developed a sound in cold weather. The colder the louder. Before the car warms up, when...

For Sale  1999 LC Just Traded to Dealer in ATL

I just traded my '99 (rear locker, 160k) on an X5 at United BMW in Duluth, GA. Fear not, I still have an '04 LC. The dealers said that they don't wholesale trades but even if they do, I assume it will be for sale in the Atlanta area in the near future. So if anyone here sees JT3HT05J6X0054283...

    Great Windshield Experience in Atlanta

I wanted to post this in case anyone is searching for a windshield shop in the Atlanta area. I just had mine replaced at Atlanta Glass Services (http://www.atlantaglassservices.com/) in Marietta. They were recommended by the body shop at Nalley Lexus and have done lots of 100 windshields...

    Too much rust?

I looked at that one. There is something weird about the history - looks like it has been in various dealer inventories for over a year. At least they've finally fixed the bumper cover.

Rear spoiler removal - potential issues w/ holes left unplugged?

I don't have the instructions anymore, but it was very simple - drill the hole, put in the nutcert, bolt on the mounts, and attach the wing. I realize that is of little value. The reason I posted is to share that there is an "installation kit" that is a separate part number. I don't think...

Program key, but... No blinking red light?

Weird. It does go out if it recognizes a transponder. Be sure that the key you're trying to program isn't on a key chain with an already programmed key. Really, the light is just an affirmation - you could go through the steps and see if it works. Let's say that the bulb is just burned out...

Program key, but... No blinking red light?

Look on the dash near the clock. Not on the key.

2004 Trailer Wiring P/N Question (and skid plate too)

All set. The trailer hitch wiring harness was 82177-60010. The oil filter cover (seal, engine under) was 51456-60060. Both were quick simple installations. No more broken or missing parts for now!
