It bolts on between the oil pan and the block. Like a windage tray sandwich. So yes, the oil pan bolts hold it in place.
I'm going to pull one from another parts truck. If it's there, I'll answer my question, plus I'd need it anyway.
Not being installed might have been what destroyed the bearings.
Anyone? I might just pull an oil pan off another one to see if it's in there.
Would anybody be interested in buying non-warrantied rebuilt 3.0 motors from a small garage(me)?
I've rebuilt 3 that as far as I know are still going strong.
They'd be around 1800 for a long block. Thinking of just...
I just took a 3.0 to a local Napa machine shop. To clean, resurface the heads and block, hone the cylinders, grind the crank and mic everything is less than 1k. Figure nowadays, most 3.4s are up in mileage where they would need a rebuild anyway. This is an easy motor to rebuild.
I'm not sure if its the same, but I had a similar problem in a 93 4Runner. There is one of the bigger fuses in the box under the hood that goes to the alternator. It is bolted in from underneath, so you cant just pull it out. Luckily I had a spare in my parts bin because I couldn't find it for...
I picked up a "Trekker" awhile ago and am debating on the route I should take.
It is an actual Trekker back half attached to a pickup cab. I'd like to restore it but am debating if I should cut the back off the cab and attach it like Winnebago did.
Does anyone have detailed pictures or...
I'm rebuilding a 3.0 V6. Not sure the year it came out of but it has an oil cooler on the side of the block.
My question is, did all years come with the oil baffle below the crankshaft? Between the pan and the block.
When I took apart this particular motor, it was missing. Could that have lead...
This has probably been gone over thousands of times but I'm trying to do disc brakes on the front of my 69 FJ55. I had a line on a FJ60 front axle but someone else got to it before me. I think I have enough mini truck parts (knuckles, spindles) to put it together that way. I was going to use the...
I've run into some problems with the mixed years body/parts. The tub is a 74 but the bench seats I have are from the original 69. They don't fit.
Also the gas tank cover does not clear the poly gas tank I bought from Cruiser Corp.
What would ya'll recommend? Put later model seats in or...
It could definitely go for some bigger tires or lower lift for sure. The problem is i built stuff into the 2" body lift and I don't want to change up the suspension to lower it that way. I'll let the next owner mess with that. I also don't want to spend the money on new 37s.
