I am doing a frame off on a 73 fj40 and I had the frame capped and the shackle hanger for the rear put in the frame(shackles hang off frame) WHen the guy did it he used 1" iron pipe instead of the proper piece for a sleeve so now the standard bushings don't fit. I believe the bushings are .950...
I am a bit confused. I have heard and read that with a SR you will gain about 2". If you have a SR in the front and the rear original aren't you only gaining in the front so thereby you must extend the rear shackle 2" longer than the front to match. And what if you are hanging the rear shackles...
There are some guys that have a banner here ,cool cruisers I think, they are on vancouver island. You could also try trent at truckworks in kelowna(he probably has a couple 2f that you could have very cheap, or Todd at Aqualu in kelowna as well. Interior Auto wreckers have (in the past) had a...
Synthetic, if it breaks, absorbs the tension and will not snap back. So an unexpected amputation or death resulting would be avoided. A bunch of us are changing over. It only took seeing it happen once(the break of cable) to change minds. Also way easier to work with abrasion sleeves you should...
Anyone know a good place to get 1000 or there abouts ft. roll of synthetic cable. There are 4 of us that want ot change over and hoping to save a bit buying bulk.
ANyone have any problems with synthetics, or good or bad comments?
You should have drums all around for brakes and adjusting them every few months is a good habit to get into. Also keep an eye on the brake master. With 8 wheel cylinders you get a leaky one and in no time you can be pushing air instead of brake fluid and "no stop" is the result.
I wouldn't get...

All stock fit fine, Great traction in the snow and especially on ice. Pretty good for climing and rocks but pack up instantly in mud(to be expected)I have heard there have been problems with premature wear but I have been running mine for 30+K and no problems...
I got a hobart 140 120v with gas and it rocks. It is pretty much idiot proof as it only has 4 heat settings and adjusts wire speed to current flow so you are always getting the optimal performance out of it.
Stick is fine but for thicker stuff and structural, though I wouldn't trust too many...
I have had projects that sat for a long time with primer on em and you have to be careful cause the primer will adsorb moisture which could lead to problems painting. If it just going to be a couple months I would let it rust and POR15 it and go from there. Just my $0.02
Nice set up Poser. I was lookin at JD squared Inc. bender and it has a large variety of radius dies from 4.5" to 7.5". I didn't see that on the hossfeld web site but assumed it was the same. Or is there only one radius per size?
Swearing at it helps a bit. I would also disconnect the battery as I didnt and had my arm all jammed in there and got zapped and pulled my arm out very quickly and got a nasty gash. Yelling seemed to help that out.
So I am lookin at buying a Hausfeld bender but I can only afford 1 or 2 dies at the most. I was thinking the 180 degree but what diameter? 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5? And is there a second die that is a must have or better than the 180? Was thinking 1 1/2" tubing is that standard for cages and such?
