I was donated a '97 and just rebuilt one of the birfs.
On her maiden voyage last night, it was revealed that the left rear wheel is seized - :|
That said, I put pb-blaster on the nuts and pads, and this am, we got one nut off, and then broke the breaker socket trying on the others :|

So, I followed romer's fantastic tuitorial on the birf assy rebuild, and now that it's 99% done, the last step has me puzzled.
It mentions after installing the final splined cap, to pull the drive shaft assy out with a guide bolt, to allow insertion of the o-ring.
Well, we have the bolt...
just finished a complete front axle re-build and was excited to drive the truck --
-- just to find out the rear left wheel is completely locked up -- :|
i tried jacking up the vehicle and unbolting the wheel, but the bolts are locked on.
so, for tonight, i sprayed and the pad area with...

I'd much rather have such mods come from a Toyota-authorized shop, since vehicle warranty will likely be included --

well, i have 3 land cruisers, so i think i have a pretty good feel of what i want in a land cruiser -- :)
and yes, just after "one look" -- that's how people function with cars -- i'm not going to test drive it 10x --
there's a reason they only sell around 1,500 of these a year, i'm thinking...
