    1. My understanding is that thermostats have a wax inside them and open and close as the wax expands and contracts with heat. This would not make an audible sound. 2. The user who installed a lower temp thermostat may have a radiator and fan...

DuckLN replied to the thread Cedar's key fob build thread.
To me your key only looks similar to the original toyota land cruiser master key. I have the Eternity keys for both my LCs and I believe they were first to the land cruiser heavy duty key market but they are just a stronger version of the...

DuckLN replied to the thread Wits end rear control arm press.
Thanks to all who contributed. Absent the correct tool i’m not sure i’m up to this but I am going to check typical parts stores and see what sizes they have.

DuckLN replied to the thread Wits end rear control arm press.
Maybe i’m approaching this the wrong way as i haven't received any response. My 100 has rear control arm bushings (upper and lower) that are the same outside diameter as the 80 and therefore the bushing press tool used for the 80 rear control...

I am looking for the 49 mm and 53 mm wits end bushing press thats used for the 80 series rear control arms (upper and lower). They (the press gizmo) are $50 a piece and i’m hoping you guys have some that float from member to member like ive seen...

DuckLN replied to the thread Control Arm Bushing Press Tools.
I got my rear passenger side lower control arm off but was unable to find a suitable sized “socket” (for lack of a better term) to press the old bushing out. I found this thread and hoped to read that you did come up with a tool for the 100...

Got one of the lower arms off but the ball joint press i’m using doesn't have a suitable socket to match the bushings diameter. Does anyone know what size press i need? Furthermore, I could run into this again with the upper arms and if anyone...

Standard bulbs. I did use the hir2 bulbs on my 2000 but they only lasted me about a year so i went back to standard.

This isn't responding direct to your inquiry but input depo aftermarkets on my 2006 and love them.

DuckLN replied to the thread Engine Loud Under Load After Idle.
I thought my fan clutch was bad and i did some research that led me to believe that you can check the fan when the engine is cold but trying to turn it. If it turns more than a few times it’s bad; at least thats what i read and mine would turn 10...

DuckLN replied to the thread Chainsaw blade sharpening.
One bit of advice is to make certain you have the right diameter file that the manufacturer recommends for that blade. After you get it sharp, don’t hit the dirt!

Burp the radiator. Check the fan clutch. Check the thermostat. Little rock gets waaay hot in the summer (we’re the highest heat index in the U.S. about 15 days during july and august) and my 2 lcs have never even gotten a smidge hot.

You need to start a new thread for this one . . . .

Step 2 get rid of the flares Step 3 get front mud flaps

Bushings were cheaper than the 4 control arms. May do panhard bushings next. Cruiser outfitters advertises oem and aftermarket bushings/ i’m trying the aftermarket.

Cruiser outfitters. Around $330 for all 8 rear bushings.

Well the 80 sub forum indicated 130 foot pounds if i read it right but i believe that series lc had heavier duty control arms and possibly a larger bolt. Maybe i’ll just torque around 100 and use locktite blue.

Got new bushings in the mail today for the rear upper and lower control arms. Could someone please post fsm instructions that includes the torque spec for both. Many thanks Woo f’n pig

So i’ve decided to replace some suspension components on my 2000 lc in an effort to improve the ride quality to near what it was years ago. The rear control arms (upper and lower) are on the list and i hoped i could just replace the bushings as...

You need to find posts i made about this. You’ll need the actual code to compare to my issue. Long story short a stealership wanted $1,700 to replace the driver side airbag and i fixed it for zero. My car had the airbag control module replaced...
