Our 2002 Land Cruiser has been sitting unused lately so it is time we part with it. It has been a family adventure/camping/travel vehicle for the better part of a decade. I would drive it anywhere and do drive it to work occasionally.

Put the fob in a microwave and it shouldn’t be able to communicate with the car to rule it out.
Very likely your sunroof drains are clogged and water is running down into the fuse/relay box near the drivers feet. This will short stuff out and cause all kinds of crazy problems.
Swapped in a supposedly good igniter. No change. It has signal at the negative terminal of the coil sometimes. It seems worse when it’s cold. What next? The pickup coil? I can ohm it out but that is unreliable with such an intermittent condition.
81 60 series has spark sometimes. It is not always getting signal at the negative terminal of the coil.
Also, the wiring to the noise filter on the coil is burned off.
It has Sniper EFI so I can tell when it is getting spark signal. Also the tach doesn’t move when it isn’t getting spark...
