It has been some time since I made this. I believe I used existing holes in the frame. The rear angle has studs welded
to it going through the frame to nuts but you could just bolt it. You may have to drill holes. I haven't had any cooling
problems with a 2F engine.
Years ago I used to run a 69 head on an early block. I don't recall any major problems doing it.
Gained better breathing at higher rpms and less burnt valves.
A friend who was a painter for a local industry provided some for a trailer we were building out of old steel shelving about 10 or more years ago. I thought it worked and held up well. We put a coat of rust doctor on it and then used steel it as I recall. I sold the trailer about 2 or 3 years...
I ran a 69 head on a 65 block for many years before going to a 2f.
I noticed better breathing at the higher end.
I think you should be able to use the newer head on the early
block as long as the head uses the copper tube to bring oil
to the rockers.
I would sure try to free up the F before pulling it. I believe
one way is to pull the spark plugs and put a little Marvel
Mystery Oil in each cylinder and let it sit a few days and
then see if it will move. There is info on this board on this
and I am pretty sure others will supply more info.
