I had the same problem only it only did it in a forward gear. Turned out my locker wasn't setup correctly. PO had it done by a friend.
Locker was fine but the gears were trashed. Now it works great. Hardly notice I have one.
Good luck
I'd have to also say a stock heater in good condition will keep you warm in just about any weather. I've lived in AK, VT, Whitehorse YT, and I stayed fairly warm in my 78 40. I did have a rear heater though, and a warm running 350. The weather strip is always a big problem.
I haven't heard any...
The North Face is a good bet. Pricey, but durable. They tend to be a bit heavier and warmer than the indicated temp range. I've got the Tundra (-20) and one (don't remember the model) for +40. If you use a fleece bag liner and a Bibler bivy with the warm weather bag, you get a wider range of...
If you add the price of a new efi system and roller cam and lifters to the motor yer talkin about you'll prolly come up close to even.
I do agree that for what you get the ram jet doesn't seem all that spectacular.
Yes, cuz that's not a Ram Jet! Good motor but still.
Read the spec on this and you can see the difference:

That's what I did. I've seen the price of some of the garbage on ebay, and James is good guy.
Luckily, I live close by so I can pick stuff up and save on the shipping.
Do you know which output shaft was used on that TH350.
Is that the Costco marine battery? Do you like it? I was lookin at the marine one but I would've needed a new tray.
The novak page says you need a short shaft (4x4 version), but that depends on the combo of trans and tcase. If yer using a gm auto and toyo trans case w/adapter IIRC you need a longer shaft and it needs to be cut.
The output spline on the th350 and 700r4 are the same.
Not sure how much the short wp saves (maybe 2 inches), but it pushes you accessories (alternator, power steering) from in front of the motor to the sides. May cause new problems.
Yes, you can mount a trans cooler anywhere as long as it gets an air flow and is out of harms way.
Good luck!
