    Speedometer Circuit Board Repair Source

Hey everyone. Had a good find to share with the community. So like many other 80 owners, I have been battling INOP/ intermittent speedometer issues for several years. The issue is the acid leaking from capacitors on the back of the circuit board of the speedometer, if you aren’t familiar. Every...

    '94 Speedometer Stopped Working

My 1994 FZJ-80 now has a non- functional speedometer/ odometer and is also burned on the back. Tried the jumper wires between solder points and it worked for a while. I think these questions have been asked previously, but here’s what I’d like to know: 1. Has anyone determined what the cause of...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Drove both Black Bear and Imogene Pass last Saturday. My wife and I were the first ones down Black Bear since we hit the trail at 7:50 am. Was very cool being the only people up there!

    Fuel Tank Pressure

I just had this issue in Colorado over the weekend driving from Denver to Ouray and also going over Imogene pass. I pulled the hose off the hard line in the engine compartment leading to the charcoal canister (a VC-120 for me) and let it vent to the atmosphere for 20 minutes. There was...

    Caster Plates for 3” Lift

OME 2.5” lift. And yes, 2.5 LandTank plates.

    Caster Plates for 3” Lift

I’ve been getting front end vibration from the OME polyurethane bushings, so my rig is at the shop having stock rubber bushings and Land Tank caster correction plates installed. He says he’s never had good luck with only using offset bushings for caster correction.

Cooling Concerns On A Hot Day

Yes, sorry that's with the Land Tank blue hub clutch using heavier silicon oil. The higher temps were with an unmodified blue clutch.

Cooling Concerns On A Hot Day

Try a blue hub clutch first... took my highway temps in 100*F ambient temps from 215-220*F down to 190-195, also with the brass radiator in a 1994.

Cooling Concerns On A Hot Day

Nope, not normal and if it does that for too long you run the risk of blowing your head gasket. I’d try a Land Tank blue hub fan clutch with heavier silicon oil in it… that worked wonders for me. I was having issues with my A/C blowing hot at highway speed using a normal blue hub fan clutch...

    The Monstalined 80's thread

It all depends on how much you thin the stuff and what PSI you spray at. No matter what you do though you’re not going to get a finish like normal paint.

Got mine sprayed over the weekend. Desert sand. Still need to spray mirrors and door handles with the door jam paint.

    The Monstalined 80's thread

For those of you who sprayed your 80 with epoxy primer before applying the Monstaliner.... how much epoxy primer did you use? I have two quarts of the Magnapoxy primer and I'd like to order more if necessary. Thanks!

I guess the big question is what do you do for the hinge that allows the mirrors to be folded in? Separate with a razor after spraying ?

Maybe I missed it, but how are you guys prepping the side view mirrors for lining? I’ll be spraying mine desert tan in a few weeks. Been watching this thread for a year and I’m very impressed with some of the results.

Game changer for Travel in the FJ

What did this end up setting you back? This is the next mod I’m looking at for my 94. I’ve been in many situations where I came close to running out of fuel and doubling the capacity would solve the biggest downside of the FZJ-80.
