I accidentally broke the clip on the single cable that runs into the centre of my distributor cap. What do I ask for and can I get it new still? I hope it doesn't fall out in the meantime. ..
I'm getting really sick of this truck. Just after I typed this I went to go for a drive and low n behold the 2 month old OEX alt dies.. I know it's only running gear but I'm feeling sick if spending a day fixing this thing every few weeks.
My truck has 260,000kms on the clock now. It blows a bit of white smoke after idling which seems to be getting worse. Always used oil over the past 5 years I've had it (still burns about same amount as it did then) Is this something I should really worry about or keep on truckin'?
I had to replace an alternator on my 97 80 last week and am wondering: how tight do you guys make your belts? I went for a 10mm flex if I push hard in the centre of two pulleys. Is this about right? I've just been stressing about it a bit
The truck is a 97 1f. Brake fluid was half way between L and F. I topped it up to F. Handbrake is off, vacuum lines seem ok (?) I thought I felt a 'wobble' while braking and next thing it was just on and hasn't gone off since

It's only a little smoke here n there so not so bad. What about an agent to run in the fuel or oil to clean carbon. Would Seafoam clean this and would it be too efficient even..? Possibly lead to doing more harm than good?
My 80 has 250k on the clock and has always used oil since I got it 5 years ago but now it smokes for a minute after starting it if the engine is still warm from last drive. I hear it's probably worn rings but is this something I should have fixed or just keep topping the oil up like I have been?

Hi all. My trusty 80 is making a fast click sound and not starting. The interior light goes dim when attempting to turn over and voltage on dash states under 10v so battery dead. I jump started but I get some warning lights on the dash and my thermostat gauge wasn't working and then did work...
