Pablo - Nothing to worry about regarding the switch. The base was all cracked up. The knob for the switch was broken off even with the base. I never did see it so there is no telling how many years ago it broke. Couldn't even make the switch move...
Next stop for this thing is the dump if nobody wants it. It is one of the emissions cans that mount in the back sidewall. I did put one back in and it is going to stay there but this one never made it back in and I am not putting it back in. The system did nothing but cause me trouble and the...
I have one of the white plastic lenses that go over the headliner light that needs a new home. The light itself was all cracked and went in the trash but the lense / cover is in decent shape. There are a few scratches on it so it is not perfect but I think it is pretty good for the age. All...
Don't know if anybody is interested in these or not. I have 4 of the big black interior door handles left over and they need to go. The dashboard "Land Cruiser" plate goes along with them. Fair warning, these are not top shelf. They have without a doubt seen better days. A couple are in OK...
I haven't had the 55 out for a drive in 6 months so I'm not sure I even know how to drive it anymore. What I do know is that I'm tired of looking at this spare bumper corner. This is the bolt on corner for the rear bumper. Passenger side. I ended up with two somehow and this one needs a new...
I had an issue with one of mine being a bit screwed up when going back together with things. Mine is the 1/4" shaft that comes through the "guides" and has the splined bushings pushed on the end. Long story short, I drilled and taped the bushing for a set screw. Ground a flat spot on the...
That frame looks awesome!!! A little primer followed by some paint and you have a really big part of the job done. It's got to make you feel good seeing some great progress.
You may already know this but don't get too paint crazy with the springs as they can actually get painted together...
I might have to side with Pablo on this and suggest holding back with the cats for a while. Trying to get all that insulation off the roof is a nightmare. Makes my shoulders hurt thinking about it. I ended up using a soda blaster to get rid of mine. Heck if those little buggers are willing...
Are those pinstripes and molding original? They've got to be aftermarket. Never seen that before. Regardless, congrats on the find! Take it one piece at a time and you'll get there. I can see the potential.
The vinyl came from Hancock Fabrics. I was pretty surprised that my local store had a nice selection. Don't know if they all carry it or not.
The air filter is stock. Don't know if it would work on a 77 or not. Would probably be a bigger pain to adapt to than it's worth. The thing weighs...
Thanks guys! Regarding the dash, mine came with the repo shell glued on it. It looked horrible. Not trying to knock the folks who make the repo but it really looked cheap. I finally got the courage to pull it off and the original dash looked like the Grand Canyon. Splits and cracks galore...
