So about a month ago I used a single stage acrylic enamel and painted the entire cruiser sans the hard top and doors. I color matched a bedliner on the inside of the tub (so I didn't use quite as much there). I painted the underside of the tub without bedliner. It took just under a gallon. I am...
food for thought, I have a different lift (old man emu with extended shackles in the rear and flipped in the front) and 35 x 10.5 SSR's and I have yet to rub the rears (uncut). I however am running white wagon rims. I think with stock steelies, you may rub the inner rear fender a bit.
evergreen engine exchange is where i got my crank turned. Delta cams in Tacoma is where i had my cam rewelded. As for building the engine or exchanging your best bet is pulling one or with Jones engine. I rebuilt the thing myself, but I don't know what your capabilities are.

I thought i might chime in here. I have a 78 with the same Old Man Emu suspension you are going to put on. If your putting on the reverse shackle up front and are welding it on there, then you may as with go with saginaw. I did and it is a snap. I got the steering linkage and plates from...
I used the kit from MAF. Got Old Man Emu springs (2.5") front and rear. The front is 4" lift because of the shackle reversal bracket. The rear uses extended shackles. Old Man Emu springs have a military wrap on both ends, so you can just flip the springs if you wanted to. It is my...
I used it on my duck boat. mix the can if you use it. I shook the can alot, then got to the bottom and saw all the material in there. Like I said, used it on fiberglass, not metal.
I have read about the Aussie Locker for a couple of years on here. Have never really heard a real complaint at all. I have seen a little info on lunchbox lockers in snow and ice on pavement. Not to completely hijack this thread, but...
For someone who drives with caution, is it really that...
I am almost done with the same setup you are using. 2x4 (3/16) with the same hinge from iron pig. I used 2x2 square tubing that was 3/16" thick and it worked out perfect. It is not on the rig yet, but it fits on the hinge and made attaching the actual tire carrier part a lot easier ( square...
As for another opinion... Powdercoating can be good for a front bumper. I had a trail ready front bumper on another rig that was coated and I never had it chip. My frame and roll cage are powdercoated and are doing fine. It is hard to remove if you want to add on to it(like a shackle reversal...
