SOLD South Carolina ‘02 Lexus Lx470

If it comes to parting out, I will be in touch. My first choice is still to sell it as she sits.

SOLD  South Carolina ‘02 Lexus Lx470

Currently have this truck listed For Sale as-is, with a blown engine. Parting out is another option I have to consider though. Probably wouldn’t take too many key parts and I’d have my $2,500 asking price. Especially since it is still in my mechanic’s lot. Let me know what you are interested...

Engine overheated to the point of stall. Truck was just over 200k miles. I have the original 16" wheels, and 18" Tundra wheels. Both are included. Weatherguard mats front & back. Photos were taken at the mechanic's storage yard, but I have more. Serious inquiries only VIN: Will Update...

UPDATE: Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

Thanks to all for the advice, thoughts, and prayers. This site is such a tremendous resource. Here is where I am on this project. I "think" I have decided to let her go. There is a higher mileage 2008 that has presented itself to me, and I think I might just have to do it. I drove to the...

All great information. Thank you so much. Spreadsheet has started. ....Ugggh!

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

Decision has been made. I've pretty much decided to get this one running again. Now, considering the parts required for a timing belt change & a new engine swap, what parts do I go ahead and source to get all of this done? I'd like to put together a list for getting this all totalled up...

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

Until I can get it home, (if that is what I plan to to do) this is the only photo I have. It's a depressing one.

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

My initial thoughts too, but I had already replaced those about 4 years ago. Not sure at this point of the autopsy results other than coolong system. I just got the news yesterday afternoon. It was overdue for timing belt service and parts change too, so I'm not sure if that could have played...

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

In a nutshell, the cooling sytem. It overheated, fatally.

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

Current mileage is 209k. Parting out scares me a little, but I do have the space & time. What would be the upside? What are the most valuable pieces I could expect to sell? Dealing with the public, the shipping, etc., all present a new list of challenges. A bit overwhelmed at the moment...

Blown Engine in my '02 LX470 - Now What?

I have decided to start over. A new-to-me, "used engine" + Labor to swap + remaining projects that were slated for this truck just doesn't add up. I will search for another comparable Land Cruiser. Now, what to do with my dead soldier? Salvage yard? Open to creative suggestions. Located...

    Replacement Steering Wheels from Ebay...

Does anyone know where to source one in "TAN w LIGHTER" wood? I searched high & low for the 97-02 steering wheels in lighter color codes. All that I see some to be the darker versions. Lots to choose from if I had a year model 2003 & earlier.
