Question: Has anyone used the rear heater tubing (when bypassed) to run wires from engine compartment to interior? Or am I delusional thinking that it should be possible.

Sorry about the year delay in my response. Had to unplug for a while but finally getting back to work on the LC. I like the Boss tray as it is all metal and much more sturdy than the junkie plastic ones. I wish I could find one for driver sire as well. As for RedArc, not much research went into...

Just finished auxiliary battery installation. Australian Boss battery tray, RedArc solenoid and 200 amp breakers.

Does anyone know if this Aussie driver side tray fits the US FZJ80 passenger side?

Got a clean one on e-bay an just put it in. All is functional again. Hoping nothing else pops up. Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely a "why didn't I think of that" moment.

It's been a while since the 80 completely stumped me. But here is the issue: A/C performance has been mediocre most summers here in AZ. But then the compressor started to cut off for no good reason but would mostly come back on when cycling the A/C switch (no overheating issue). Then it died...

I just did the PHH and now it looks like the water pump area is bleeding red. Grrr. Question: The FSM shows one seal that seems pretty simple to replace. But it looks like it leaks closer to the block/cylinder head. Is there seperate water pump housing with another seal??

Mine made it all the way to 192k. But it's a ticking time bomb. It was bulging and seeping. PO should have done this a long time ago.

With all the helpful hints I finished this job in roughly 3 hours. It was not quite as dreadful as expected. Breaking of the lower bracket was by far the best advice. All nice and clean and no more red drips. Thanks!

OK. So you leave the lower end loose after breaking off the lower tube mounting tab?

Replacing the two short ones. I like to keep things mostly original.
